The point is that emuNAND normally crashes when entering DS mode and keeps it from running. The fact that this person has a functional DS mode while in emuNAND is quite outstanding.
I didn't think it made a difference, but then, I hadn't tried DS mode when in emuNAND. Just tried it it (both an actual game and the DSTWO), and it booted up just fine (I use RXTools with emuNAND that was created with the GW tools). Doesn't the system reboot itself to DS mode, like it would for AGB mode? The difference between those two is that for AGB mode, it loads the game from the SD slot vs the card slot.
Now, if this were to launch a DS game from the SD slot, then that would be something.
