Gaming dsi top screen broke off

my dsi was open and i tripped when walking and it went flying out of a 3 story window onto concrete today the top screen was hanging on by the ribbon cable it was still working but then my nephew pulled the top screen and broke the ribbon cable and now it will not power on what can i do there are photos on there i need

you will have to get a new screen\top... ebay should be your friend, but there are stores (and i seen some flashcart stores) selling the screens...
but best option you should buy a dsi that doesn't turn on that has the screens fine, so you can put your board on it, or exchange the screen

the console will not work without both screens..
there are some people who modded a ds lite to get rid of one screen, but you need to solder some components, i think it was a resistor, but i am not sure... and i don't know where exactly. but you need someone with experience to repair electronics..

btw aren't photos saved to the sd card?

Internal storage is also an option for photo storage, but yeah, they may be stored on the SD card as well.

@OP Yeah, you'll have to get a new top screen. As far as I know, a single screen mod for the DSi does not exist, otherwise send it to Nintendo, pay for the cost of the repairs, or hope they can recover the photos.
