This is too funny...

Many complaints here ranging from DOA readers to a person who is claiming it ruined a harddrive. I don't think many folks would have complained if the card reader was not included as almost all microSD cards come with an SD adapter.

They are new players in this market trying to establish a reputation. This is starting off on the wrong foot. At least they got the important bits right.

You do realise the SD adapter doesn't come with an SD reader right?
So you need a reader anyway...

i've used the Micro SD USB reader included exclusively since i got my R4.. sure, i have and SD adapter and a card reader, but the SD/USB tool is a snap and has worked like a charm for me.

in other words, not everyone thinks it is a piece of junk, I'm actually glad they included it.

yeah - mine's great.

The plastic casing fell off it when I dropped it on the kitchen floor, but other than that it works great.

Yea, mine works perfectly well. I accidently dropped it too and the shell broke. But I just duct taped it together again and it feels better in terms of hardware quality now lol..

people who have problems with something are always gonna be heared from more. you're not going to find someone here starting a thread titled "my microSD reader works just fine!" (atleast i hope not). but if something breaks, there will be posts about it.

i'm sure most microSD readers that were shipped with the R4 are just fine, no need to be alarmed. I'm getting a shipment of 5 R4s tommorow, i'll test every one of them just to see if this problem is really that widespread.

I had fifth R4 delivered today... (I have only 1 for me, but I keep ordering for my friends)

It looked like new batch. Game Card holder was new shape, and the T-Flash reader is lot more sturdier..
My old card reader makes squeaky noise and shell comes loose when I twist it, but this new one is strong and well held together, also now LED color is BLUE instead of GREEN!

For me 5 out of 5 card reader worked fine and still works fine... (No complaints from any of my friends)

1GB Kingston MircroSD this time was made in Taiwan... Looks like Divineo ran out of made in Japan stock.

for the record mine works fine and it has a blue shell with a blue light..

this is the first i had heard of a green led, is the case green, or is this the black one others have been talking about? hopefully my 2nd one will be here within the next few days..

my microSD usb reader that I got with the R4 works great. No problems here. I'm actually very happy that they included it.

Here's what happened with my reader:

I plugged it into my PC. The blue LED went on, then about 2 seconds later it turned off. It never turned on again, putting in the microSD card does nothing. As far as I can tell, it's fried.

I was happy that they included it, but I'm disappointed that it only worked for 2 seconds. I'd rather they didn't include one at all because then I could have had a working one ready, but now I have no reader. Still, I have an old pc with an internal reader, but it would have been nice to use the usb one.

I'm happy to hear it's working for some people, just unfortunate that it doesn't work for all.
