Hi guys, after reading the very long thread about SCDS, I am now looking for a good microSD card.

I got the impression that Kingston are the brand to go for (for scds), but out of all the Kingston 1gb cards available, what are the specs I should be looking for?

thanks!

i am currently using a transcend 512mb 80x (from newegg) with the 1.1 software and it works perfect. I set the speed to 32x and so far i have yet to encounter a problem. My pny 1gb (not sure of its speed) runs ok but ther is a noticeable difference when switching screens in castlevania: POR. I just use the pny for movies and the transcend for games.

ordering it online would be a smart choice since stores tend to have higher prices. The 512 80x was $19 shipped. Came in 2 days. The pny was 20ish.

first reports showed the kingston being the best card, but with the new software, faster cards are now being properly accessed so the usual fast cards will still be your best bet.

Hrm, thats kind of what I though.

So do you think I should just go with the Sandisk Ultra II, assuming that SCDS will support it a little more completely in the future?

I suppose that makes sense given that these slot one solutions were meant to support high speed cards.

I'm using a kingston 512.. but seriously, it's getting kind of small. after putting moonshell, you would want more space for music and videos, and a bigger game selection. stick with kingston, sandisk, or transcend and you will be fine. anyone want to buy my 512? =]

i think thats a good price for a 1GB san disk ultra ||

That is a good deal, cept that you can't find out that they don't actually have any until AFTER they take payment for it lol.

Never mind, I went with mobymemory who were pretty good btw.

And supercardstore for the scds, who were EXCELLENT.

Now I just need some microsd and I can start posting about how the damn thing don't work!! yay!

With SC DS One 1.1:
1GB Kingston (miJap) - both games Phoenix Wright and Nintendogs are working
1GB Corsair - both games don't start - just 2 white screens

Castlevania:PoR freezing on both microSD on I click the Start button.

I'm pretyy dissapointed with Corsair...

I've always trusted SanDisk - they have a good userbase and are respected, plus they're usually well priced.

If you're UK, then the only really viable option imo is Amazon.

I'm getting a couple of the 1gb Sandisk basic ones. Be realistic, the only reason you'd want super fast data transfer (which i dont' think makes much of a difference on the DS) is if you're a pro photographer. Plus they're £11 each, so you could get three for the price of one 2gb card
