It works, but it doesn't actually appear as an icon on the home menu. I have to launch it through the dev menu. Presumably for this reason, I also can't suspend it by pressing HOME. I actually had this same problem when trying to convert an app to a CIA. I didn't include a CFA, an icon.bin, or a banner.bin, and I assume that's why it happened. But I couldn't figure out how, and I didn't keep looking because said app later had a CIA version added.

Hey, as the creator of that other hello world program, thanks for making this. I originally made that to serve as a basis for basic text-based applications, but like you said its a bit too complex to be very useful, and yours does a much better job :lol:

It's not a 3DS file, it's a CIA. That's why you have to launch it via the dev menu.

I'm reuploading it to build a cia file, and added instructions for basic use.

I know how CIA files work; generally they appear on the home menu with an icon when you install them. You just need the dev menu to install them, not to run them.
