after finishing the elite beat diva mode last night, I can honestly say this game is easier than ouendan....but it could be the practice I've had from it as well...don't know if I'm going to try to move up from 5 star commander. As for canned heat, it's difficult because it's a strange beat but after a couple tries it is easy as well.

The thing with canned heat is a lot of it switches between on the beat, on the vocals and on the off beat. Once you get your head around it though it gets a lot easier.

has anyone got passed the alien invasion (unknown) im stuck on that and its really HARD

You must beat that one to even get to the third difficulty level. It is two songs in a row but it isn't THAT hard.

I'm about 3/4 through Hard Rock mode!

I don't think I'll be able to complete Jumping Jack Flash on it, though. It was damn hard the last time around already! Still haven't beaten Ready Steady Go on hard mode in Ouendan...

Those diva girls are hella slutty. If you can complete RSG on cheerleader mode on Ouendan, I'm sure you'll agree with me jumping jack flash is cake in hard rock mode with the divas. It essentially is the same as hard mode except they mirrored the beats. So if you have trouble on it, I would suggest trying to beat it on hard mode a couple more times and then the hard rock mode will be 2nd nature. It helps that it's a fast song so hit circles don't appear out of nowhere so to speak.....only issue is kinda reacting quickly or memorizing where the dragging balls are. And spinners are MUCH more forgiving in EBA compared to Ouendan, everytime I get huge bonuses from it.

I think this is a pretty good game overall. Song choice could be reworked a little and some of the covers really need some better people singing them but overall, it's done well in comparison to Ouendan.

I don't understand why so many people think this is that much easier though. If people just picked EBA w/o touching Ouendan, they would still consider this pretty difficult until they get used to the beat/vocals, just like Ouendan was difficult until you get used to jpop/jrock beats/vocals. Difficulty still does come from part of the unknown, which Ouendan as a beat game on the DS showed. EBA is a sequel and those who played it after Ouendan wouldn't find anything different to learn, although they seem to do more double and triple stacked numbers in EBA than Ouendan.

Only 2 things might explain if it is easier is the dearth of music rhythm games in Japan compared to America, it wouldn't really be surprising that it's a little easier to help introduce this type of game to the DS. Other is that with understandable songs to an American public, people can pick up the beats and rhythms of the music and vocals faster.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm feeling too many people are critiquing this game unfairly.

Cheers

I wouldn't say that EBA is easier on in general, but I do find it easier to get s-ranks in EBA compared to Ouendan. The rhythm in western songs seems to be easier, or maybe it's easier to remember it because I can understand the lyrics.

Also it could be that the learning curve is not as steep as in Oundan. E.g. you get to try your hand at bloody fast sequences in Anthem and Survivor before you get to Jumping Jack. I find it interesting that after playing Ouendan for some time, I gave up on RSG with cheerleaders after 20 tries or so, and after completing EBA I beat it after a couple of tries 8)

hhaha EBA is great. it actually trained me to win last stage of ouendan in hard mode (3 star) in first try after a few months of no practice ( stopped cuz it was too hard!)... i'm in hard mode last stage of EBA without avail. so beating ouendan last stage was quite the sruprise.

i just updated my loader and manager software from 4.1d to 4.6c

eba will freeze up whenever I try to play the game, sometimes right away, and other times a minute or two in. any thoughts on how to get rid of the freezing?

taiguy, backup your saves, remove the game from the cart and try to re-add it using different settings (specifically, safe mode, for me it works flawlessly with 4.6c firmware).

Also, you'd probably be better off a) telling what kind of flashcart you have and b) asking this in the G6 forum.

Whats the general consensus on the japansese version vs the english version?
from what i can gather the only thing thats really changed (apart from the language) is the songs, but i'm a bit of a j-music fan so anyone care to voice their opinions. ^^.

There isn't a general consensus. Quite a few technical things have been improved in EBA, for example everything is now skipable. There are also more songs which is alsways a good thing and the patterns got a little more interesting, too. Which song selection you like better depends on your taste, I love them both. I like the stories in the Japanese version better but again, that probably depends on your taste. What definately helpes the quality is that I can't read the text in the Japanese version. I wish EBA had Japanese text.

You just have to get both. It's as simple as that.

I finally finished the game to unlock Kahn. Oh dear god. Seeing an old man doing the ass shaking almost made it worthwhile. Sadly, I don't think I'll bother to continue getting the last rank as I played all the stages to death.

OrR: "I wish EBA had Japanese text."

WTF?
