Hi, new to this homebrew scene. I'm looking for the best bang-for-the-buck NDS lite flashcard (obviously I'm on the budget here).

I'm looking for:
excellent NDS rom support
GBA support (optional)
upgradeable memory
doesn't drain too much battery life
fairly inexpensive
don't care too much about homebrew
don't care too much about sticking out of the lite

Right now, I'm looking towards the EZ flash 4, M3 lite, Supercard, and Ewin2. What are your suggestions and past experiences with these? Thanks!

Sure, if you use rumble. Otherwise it's not much different from any other flashcart.

I like my EZ 4 lite a lot myself. The little it sticks out doesn't bother me in the least.

I do plan on getting a slot 1 solution for better battery life and rumble compatibility though. Waiting on an AceKard review.

And this should be in the NDS flashing subforum, not GBA.

Oops..wrong forum mate. This is for GBA.

Anyway, I always felt a better vibe coming from M3 than supercard so I'd probably choose that. Supercard is probably as good though, even though they were kind of slow on updating their firmware before.

Since I have a G6 lite, which is built by the same guys as the M3 lite, I can safely recommend that as a "super card"

I recently got myself a ewin2, which has worked like a charm so far. It is also very cheap, and it doesn't drain too much power. GBA-support is a no-go though...

I'm most likely waiting on an Acekard for my first DS cart... but my accessories get here in a few days, my onyx lite a couple days after that... I'll be hard pressed to wait much more than a week to start gaming :DDD

Well a Supercard Lite if you want GBA support, and a Supercard Rumble if you don't. There's a sharp price difference (Rumble is cheaper).

The supercard is a cheap product but it's still solid and has great NDS compatibility.

EWIN2!!!! I got one and it is awesome. Execellent commercial rom compatibility and no problems performance-wise that I have seen.

It is also super cheap. Just get the SD version if you dont care about it stickign out. Thats what I got for my lite and it doesn't bother me

so...

GOOOOO EWIN

So I got: Ewin2, EZ Flash IV, Supercard Rumble, and Acekard... I'm leaning towards the Acekard since it doesn't need a passkey

Buy a SuperKey with your SuperCard Rumble. Use it to flash your system, sell it off. You will not find a cheaper alternative.

And besides, the rumble feature in Metroid Prime Pinball is a pretty cool novelty to show your friends.

kalibar, I think thats what I (while not the starter of this thread) am going to do... ill probably lose a couple bucks max on the card, and the supercard rumble will hold me off till supercard/m3 pull out their slot1 revs
