I'm thinking getting a Raspberry Pi to offer the service in the US for $15 + return shipping. It looks far easier than some of the 360 mods I've done.

If anyone in Austria+neighbours needs an unbrick, pn me :3

Unbricked my 3ds XL...was easy thx to bkifft...can't guarantee for a small 3ds (but I'm quite sure I can handle anything o,o)

Not planning to make big money out of such a smalll work, guess 10€+paying for the shipping would be enough.

I think we should start a thread for unbricking. Maybe a sticky for countries and location whereby people can possible can a mod performed on their devices or unbricking services.

Kinda like what XDA have for android phones unbricking.

That's pretty much what this thread is...

If any of you are considering asking gamesquest1 to unbrick your 3DS then don't hesitate to ask him. He did a wonderful job on mine+the micro USB. Even when he felt that the connections were not up to par he went out of his way to make it better. You won't find a better offer elsewhere.

Lordofthereef no longer offers the service.
...I was one of the guys offering free unbricks (not to steal your thunder, but you asked a couple posts up). I am unaware of another person (could be wrong). I am pretty much out of free services at the moment as I have gone back to work (just had a baby and now have my 40 hour + baby time obligations lol).

Just for fun, pic of micro USB integration on normal 3DS !
I've done it for mine but I don't think I can offer it for my customers because of the time wasted to archieve this result. ^_^'

i use a mini usb for the normal 3ds, pretty quick to install and sturdier than the micro usb ports, also it fits in great and has the plastic behind it to prevent any movement

I know that the mini usb port i just installed is used to downgrade my firmware, but could it also be used to recover from a brick? Not that I might have any hopefully since I intend to stay away from b2.

yeah, same connections to unbrick with raspberry pi, as to downgrade, so if you have a raspberry pi you can unbrick using the same setup

i know there is no "best" way to have the wiring, but i do think maybe modders should try make a uniform pinout, so if ever someone needs a replacement usb-SD adapter they could get someone to make it without figuring out what pinout each person who fits them uses or having to open the console up, personally i include a pin out for the user with what wires go to which point, i ended up with a different pinout for XL and standard, I will probably make them all conform for future jobs, but just wondering what most people are doing, i seen a few different guides with a few different pinouts, personally i always wire the red wire to ground to hopefully avoid any bad effects if someone where to accidentally plug a standard usb cable/charger in to the port. but then 2 guides i have seen have the red wire hooked up to clk or dat0, does anyone know what would happen if someone does accidentally plug a charger into the port if people (for example if the user has children etc who don't realize) have been wiring the 5v pin to clk/dat0, i wouldn't want to try it myself

The agreed color for GND wire is black and it is linked like this with standard Mini/Micro USB cables.

I put in the proper wiring diagrams respecting the location of the GND and follow a logical / memo-technical order for others wires and colors :

- 3DS XL diagrams :

- 3DS diagrams :

About CLK point, I linked it with wire to an immovable pad like this :

i understand that generally ground is black, but what i'm asking is does running the cable that ordinarily used for 5v directly to the nand not pose a risk of damaging the nand if a standard usb/charger was inadvertently connected to the usb port?

I think whatever the combination, it is not good for the console to send 5V whatever points, even GND point.
There has to see what happens if we reverse polarity of a car battery....
