I am not going for that kind of modding because I know it is unrealistic. Simply removing the top screen is difficult enough already. Not only do I have a really high chance of breaking the system (at least according to a user on here) but I don't even know whether the system needs a top screen to work. (2 different users stated that it will not work!)if you are going to this kind of modding why not make a custom case as well ;D
Again, I don't want this to play GBA games. I want this because I believe it will make touchscreen games more enjoyable. This is not a mod, it's wanton destruction. I just witnessed, on YouTube, the Wii U GamePad shot with a high-powered sniper rifle, plus the console blown to dust with C4, and that was leagues smarter than this. Get a used SP or GBA clone FFS.
A custom case for both screens is an infinitely safer than castrating the system. Your idea can be executed but it's pretty silly.I am not going for that kind of modding because I know it is unrealistic. Simply removing the top screen is difficult enough already. Please explain what you have in mind.A custom case for both screens is an infinitely safer than castrating the system. Your idea can be executed but it's pretty silly.
but you cant do anythingPlease explain what you have in mind.
Do you mean removing the case of the 3DS XL, and replacing with a non-closeable case? (like an iPad Mini with 2 screens?)
If so then that does sound interesting.
But where would I get such a case? This definitely is something I can't do myself and neither can someone who merely repairs systems.
If you have any ideas please tell me.
Sure you can do it - all you need is an old toy or some dense net or material and epoxy. It would be less rocket science than matching and soldering resistors to pretend that the screen is still there. Hell, you can even use paper and several coats of epoxy. Please explain what you have in mind.

Because that is not a 3DS.but you cant do anything
the hole point of the ds series is 2 screens hence why they called it Duel Screen
and 3D Screen
why not get this
I have no idea what you're saying. Maybe I'll look up some youtube vids in a moment which will help me figure it out.Sure you can do it - all you need is an old toy or some dense net or material and epoxy. Fun fact: The DS actually stands for Developer's System (originally/officially iirc) contrary to popular belief. Though I guess Ninty took a liking to fans' take on the meaning behind the name. But yea w/e. LOLthe hole point of the ds series is 2 screens hence why they called it Duel Screen

Pretty sure that's the accelerometer doing its job.I have no idea what you're saying. Maybe I'll look up some youtube vids in a moment which will help me figure it out.
Is there someone who can do this for me though? Like a website that mods gaming systems for example?
I noticed something on the 3DS XL though. If you snap the screen to a different position, the home screen icons on the top screen spin around.
That's terrible! So the top screen is an input device too? Why, Nintendo, why. -_-
Both Developer's System and Dual Screen apply as the name, although the concept of the DS being a Developer's System is somewhat laughable considering the fact that the hardware was incredibly outdated from Day 1 and isn't exactly easy to program for either with all its limitations standing in your way.Fun fact: The DS actually stands for Developer's System (originally/officially iirc) contrary to popular belief.
I want to play with only the touchscreen, at which point I'd have no reason not to sell the top half.I'm a little confused. You want to play 3DS games with only a touch screen, or do you just want to separate the 3D screen from the touch screen sort of, and play them while one is elsewhere, or do you want to separate the 3D screen from the 3DS entirely and play games like that? Because all three of those options will probably cause quite a few other problems.
EDIT: Now I'm confused again; do you still want to play 3DS games on it?
