XFlak,

yes, that affirmative, "hacks_hash.ini" is in my SD card's "apps/priiloader" folder - I can apply system hacks of my choice to the real NAND without any problem.
And yes, ModMii has copied the hacks to the EmuNAND - "title/00000001/00000002/data" has both "hacks.ini" and "hackshas.ini".

I have briefly tested with another 4.3 EmuNAND I had - same effects :(
I know I had it working with a 4.2 EmuNAND previously.
I guess I will have to give it another try tomorrow with a completely fresh set.

Anyway, thank you for your help!

Ok, I am looking into other uses of neek2o other than my current one of it being the only way to get a bacjup of Tintin working :)

As I understand it, using neek2o shouldn't give any problems in playing Wiiware on the emulated nand but ... is there is a better way of playing/storing them than just installing the WADs via ShowMiiWads ? ie is there an app which is the Wiiware version of CFG Loader that works in neek2o for example ?

Still? Hmm...I haven't followed the progress of d2x and the USB loaders, but it would amaze me if they haven't fixed that issue with Tintin yet.

As for wiiware...I don't see how things could be more simple than using showmiiwads. Locate the correct nand (convenient if you have multiple), drag & drop all your wads into the box, click "install" and it installs things automatically. You probably get the same result if you start your emulated nand, run MMM and manually install the wads that way, but I wouldn't consider that an easier way (just a different way).

Obviously, whosmiiw...sorry: showmiiwads or MMM doesn't actually play the wads. They just install them. To play them, you can use the emulated system menu, or use a loader that can launch channels. I generally use postloader, but joyflow (an mod of wiiflow) can do that as well. There's a neek-modded version of CFG floating around as well, but I'm not sure if CFG can launch channels (I think so, but I'm not sure).

Ah, no.

I know can install them 'properly' onto the nand with ShowMiiWads but then wouldn't you limited to a "maximum number of channels" on the system menu ? As opposed to installing them in the nand and then using some piece of homebrew which wouldn't limit the number of channels ?

I'll check out Joyflow and see how it goes.

Is any one else having any problems with The Last Story on neek2o?

I'm using the latest version (r75), game partition only, and I get the "please insert wii disc" message when I switch to the game. It works fine with the real nand.

An option to hide installed channels for the neek2o system menu is on the postloader todo list. This will fix the 47 channel limit of the system menu and will also fix the system menu slow startup with multiple channels installed. Once you get used to postloader, you can use it as a system menu replacement, and have neek2o boot directly into postloader instead of the system menu.

Could you please provide a little more details? Is the game E or U? Is your nand for the same region? Are you having priiloader on the nand? Are the region free hacks enabled in it? Have you tried to discex the game? Does it play in discex format under the games folder?

Sure - here's some more info. The game is EUR, and it gives me the same error on a USA or EUR emu nand. Priiloader isn't installed on my emu nands (but is installed on the real nand) and region free hacks are not enabled.

I have not tried testing it as discex, but I will do that shortly. I will also enable the region free hacks and see if that makes a difference.

Also, I'm not sure if it matters, but this is a dual layer game.

dual layer shouldn't be a problem.
The conversion from iso to wbfs should split the game into multiple .wbfs .wbf1 .wbf2 pieces with a size smaller than the fat32 4 gig maximum filesize.
You can install the priiloader from our google svn. It should work fine under neek.

I don't have the game, so I am unable to test it myself.

I tried The last story earlier on my neek2o setup and it worked fine. I'm using a PAL emu-nand and rev69, but I don't think that makes much of a difference. It's as .wbfs file without update partition, so it's not that either.

Installing priiloader and enabling the region free is my main thought. After all: using a PAL game on a normal NTSC wii will give an error (and without region free hacks, it actually SHOULD give that error if the nand emulation is done correctly ;) ).
It's easy to say "on real nand", but that's on a loader as well...which have similar hacks as priiloader.

Thanks wever & obcd - it turned out that if I enabled the region free hacks in the overlay menu, the Last Story works on USA or EUR nand. I didn't need to install priiloader, but I'm going to install it anyway since it could be useful.

my hdd is formatted to fat32 i used wiibackup manger it format it and add all of the games.
i used modmii to build the nand.

now for my problem when i use a fresh nand it dose not show any of the games in the wbfs folder, when i recreate the game list its like it becomes croupted. no matter how long i hold the 1 button the menu never pops up to give me the game list after i know its not the nand build it self i use my 4 gb flash and it loads the single game and plays just fine.

Use rev. 75 or 76. 75 is a bugfix as uneek_fs support got broken in previous releases.
The gamelist is stored in a file called diconfig.bin. If you want neek to recreate that file, you simply need to delete it.
Upon the next start of neek, the file should be rebuild. Also make sure you have the font.bin in the sneek folder. Are you using sneek or uneek?

I just tried playing guitar hero III ledgands of rock on neek2o r75 and have some issues to report. I haven't had any problems with running any apps that I have on this setup until now.

I am using Bootneek dol loaded in priiloader to boot into neek2o r75
have games in wbfs folder on WD Elements 1.5 Tb hard drive formated to fat 32 32k clusters.
I used the overlay menu and Joyflow with the same results

Game play is not good due to the fact that the songs seam to skip every few seconds. Has anyone else experienced this with their setups? Could it be a drive issue? Or is it just the way neek2o has to access the nand and Guitar Hero on the same hdd?

Thanks,

Shag

If I remember correctly, it should be possible to play out of region games on neek2o. However, I can't get it to work. I'm using the newest rev (r76, compiled myself without modmii and sneek installer). Also, I enabled the region free hack in priiloader (the version modified to work with neek2o) and changed the game region in the overlay menu. Still, if I try to start the WiiWare title "Liight" (NTSC release) on my EU nand, I get the "This channel cannot be started / used" message.

Additional information:

neek2o r76
loading from HDD with official neek2o channel
PAL games working fine
Config files for neek2o were freshly build by r76
The problem existed on r75 as well

I don't know what could be wrong or if I simply forgot something, but I enabled region free wherever I could and also set the game region to usa.
