Yes I will most likely warranty it with Nintendo. Mostly I wanted to make this video to see if other people have had this same problem. I have heard people complain about hinge but I wonder how many people have a squeaky d-pad as well.

Read: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=296...p;#entry3708993 I really don't want to send it back to Nintendo... I will wait and see if the squeaking hinge problem will dissapear.

I have done warranty program with Nintendo for my Wii and it was a very nice experience. However I don't want to send it away if I don't have to. I tried using an air compressor to blow out every opening I could find on my 3ds (thinking maybe it was dust) but that didn't do anything either.

Hmm.. the Greek one sucks. I sent it twice only to change the screen... I would suggest lubricating the hings (I will eventually).

I have fixed this. The problem is rubbing plastic. First I applied a VERY small amount of penetrating oil where the plastic was rubbing. This mostly fixed the problem but it started to come back. So I placed a folded piece of wax paper between the d-pad and 3ds housing and worked the dpad around for a bit. After doing that to all the sides of the dpad that come in contact with the 3ds housing I have no more squeaking. I will report back if it shows up again.

Now I wished I would have tried wax paper only first to see if that works.

Very happy.

My d-pad is a bit squeaky as well but can't compare it to yours since I can't watch your video at work. Nevertheless, everything that squeaks will eventually stop squeaking if used more

d-pads fucked, but your hinge seems fine when you open and close it normally idk why you kept finding the tight point and going back and forth or how you were keeping fingers under the screen while pushing down on the other side..

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
