I've done goofed up my wii and need to restore the nand off my SD stick, but after I performed the key-fix onto my key.bin file, I formatted my SD card and forgot about the 'bootmii' folder. When I load bootmii through HBC the screen goes black and the disc-drive light keeps flashing blue.

I've installed various IOS WADs hoping to get the appropriate ones I need to get the usb loaders working, apparently but they aren't. The loaders load fine however, but after getting to the loading screen the screen goes black and the wii freezes.

Here's what I did from what I remember:
Did the smash-stack exploit, I installed HBC from the hackmii installer and installed bootmii into IOS but skipped the second option "prepare SD".
Afterwards I installed ios236 for the trucha bug.
Then I sort of ran the NAND backup from here, forgetting to do so early on.
Then I ran the YAWM multimod batch installer which installed other various IOSes.
Then I ran the priiloader install.

Can anyone link me to a tutorial that's up to date for version 4.3u? I get really frustrated when I click on deprecated downloads that redirect you to newer versions which makes the tutorials inconsistent.

Call me an idiot, I followed a tutorial that only prepares you without 249 and 236. I have it again because I redid the exploit, I'm in bootmii and am getting "BootMii not found, too dangerous to continue!" And some stuff with "Konami" and "hashimoto-san". I need to restore the nand, what do I need to do at this point?

You have a chance of fully bricking your wii by restoring without bootmii installed as boot2, so don't restore, especially since HBC (and presumably the system menu) are working.

Get ModMii from the stickies at the top and use that to rehack it. Don't worry about what you already installed.

Okay back to square one, indeed HBC and bootmii are working. In general what should I install and such? As of now, I'm using the loading of YAWM to decide whether I have all my need cIOSes, and since it seems to crash with a register dump on screen I was assuming that I didn't have all my needed WADs. My other wii is working fine and is able to run YAWM, homebrew and usb loaders, so I'm assuming my cIOSes on that one are fine. Is there a homebrew that dumps a list of WADs I have installed for analyzation?
On another note, another wii that's been hacked has bootmii running every time it powers on, why isn't this one doing it?

It's only when you have bootmii installed as boot2 that it run's every time at startup.
When it's installed as ios, it only run's when you start it from the hbc or another program like priiloader.
In order for bootmii to work, you will need the bootmii folder on the root of your sd card with an armboot.bin, ppcboot.elf and bootmii.ini file in it.

I will give the same advice again:

Use Modmii for windows and answer the questions like your wii wasn't modded before.

There exist a "syscheck" program that gives you a detailed list of your installed ios and cios.

Modding tutorials are suposed to be followed to the letter.
The way you skip some steps and use pieces of different tutorials make me believe you are trying to create a fancy doorstop with blue backlighting.

It's called syscheck. It makes a log of what IOSes you have installed.

That wii has bootmii installed as boot2.

The wii you're having issues with has bootmii as IOS only...

A question for you, Why did you use the YAWM Installer?
I know this question wasn't aimed at me, but still...

...because it installs wads. Or groups of wads. YAWM is what the name means: Just Another Wad Manager. It's not better or worse than others (perhaps bette than Waninkoko's original wad manager because it allows to install multiple at the same time, but that's about it).

wads are individual things. Guides or mod managers may make it look as if they're part of a big whole, but I'm certain that if it crashes, it's either because of ONE wad that is faulty...or if you're using a non-trucha bugged cIOS (236 is pretty standard, but pretty much everything above 200 that isn't a stub will work fine as well).

The rest is already said (use modmii and/or compare cIOS'es with syscheck). I agree with those mantions.

As said before, if you can launch BootMii from HBC, and basically everything works, the chance to mess up everything are higher than doing anything good. Only with BootMii boot2 you can use the nand restore for such things.

If you only want usb loaders to work:
Download ModMii:
http://gbatemp.net/t207126-modmii-for-windows

Run ModMii on your PC, create a wad for the latest d2x cIOS with base IOS56("4"->"249d2x56") and copy it to the "wad" folder on your sd card. Then run WAD Manager on your Wii, select to use IOS236 and install the wad. Your usb loaders should work now, if they don't it's an issue with the usb loaders or your hardware. Most other stuff you can do with ModMii is just not usb related at all.

Thanks for the replies, I'll post a syscheck later.

The thing is I'm not actually 'using' it, the fact that it crashes when I startup is an indicator I used to keeping looking for cIOSes until I have all the ones I need. I made this assumption when I remember there was a particular cIOS description that read that with it I'd be able to run almost all homebrews. Plus YAWM worked on the other wii, so I had to assume something was missing.

I'll try modmii thanks, I'll keep posted.

EDIT:
SysCheck apparently keeps crashing at "checking for ios vulerabilities"
Attempting modmii now.

EDIT:
Thanks guys, modmii was just the fix I needed. Everything is working, and YAWM doesn't crash (Not using it, but making sure it runs. I prefer MMM). Thanks everyone, gbatemp is full of knowledgeable and helpful folks.
