More important than if it can be hacked is if it will be region-locked - if it is, I'm really overthinking buying it ...

I'll definitely buy a 3DS whether it can be cracked, but I'll most likely hold off until the lite version released.

Yes. I bought the DS before it was hacked, heck, the hacking never even crossed my mind. But I'm definitely getting it. I doubt games will cost much more then £35.00. That will probably be the maximum.

Im defo going to buy it, the only difference will be if it cant be hacked, I'll wait until the price has dropped or some cool bundles are coming out.

If it is hacked I'll still buy most games just to support nintendo though

That's the most useless motivation ever.

No I would not buy one, because it means I can only buy one game a month... Plus I've been playing multiple games simultaneously for ages now. I don't think I can cope with a different way of playing. When I play a few levels of a certain game I get bored and need something else. Okay, I could play a purchased 3DS game and when I'm fed up with it, I can play my older unfinished games. But then I think of the price of a new 3DS and the price of the games vs the shit I already haven't played now... No, I really think this could very possibly be the end of Nintendo gaming for me.

EDIT: The only way I'm prepared to buy a 3DS is if my Acekard/R4 is compatible with it, which I think is as likely as me winning the lottery today (I haven't even bought lottery tickets, so it's pertty unlikely)

How is One game a month not enough? Try one game every 3-6 months. Also, if you buy a game instead of downloading, you'll be much more motivated to finish it since you wanna get your money's worth.

I pirate games only because I can do it and of course for some money issues. But if I've no choice, I'll just buy my games like everyone. The only thing will be that I'll have less game, but I don't really have much time for games these days so it won't be a real problem.

Well, we'll see. If there will be games that completely BLOW ME AWAY, I might reconsider. I've become a complete bastard gamer and I find it hard to change my way of playing games. I haven't bought a game since Kirby's Canvas Curse. PLus there's so much I haven't played that it's almost ridiculous to buy yet another console and just forget about all the great stuff that has been released the last couple of years.

For example: I haven't even completed Super Mario Galaxy 1 yet.

I'll buy the 3DS, eventually. But I'll wait until the 3DSi comes out. Just wanna be sure all the teething troubles are dealt with before I spend my hard earned money...

I'm going to buy one regardless of the piracy.
I see it as a nice extra down the line since I buy most consoles and handhelds anyway.

That's one of the few benefits of Japan getting games and consoles before the UK and US, if there any problems like buttons not working or in game glitches then hopefully Nintendo will be able to iron them out or at least we should know about them. It would be a shame to wait all that time for the 3DS if you don't need to and what's wrong with the current model; its not as chunky as the Phat DS and one of the reasons that the DS/lite was replaces was the lack of updates which is obviously not a problem now.

Yes and no. If it were up to me, I wouldn't be able to dish out $300+ at launch (college student heh) but that's because of financial issues and nothing to do with the 3DS being hackable. With money out of the question though (say, if it were $200), I'd definitely want to pick one up... even if I knew it wouldn't ever be hacked. Why? UM. WHY NOT. It really does sound and look (key word) like an awesome system. Multitasking, tag mode, and ... 3D gaming without glasses? The game lineup is also UM. FUCKING AMAZING. Count me in! I pirate because I can and it's easy enough for me to download and play any game I want.

I really can't say no for an answer after seeing the videos, features, AR games and much more.
Also the games currently in the making for it beats the hell out of all the DS games out there.

You can't just buy something ONLY because it can be pirated, throwing aside the awesome features. I really doubt the 3DS can be pirated with all the anti-piracy Nintendo has been working on. Even if there is a flashcart for it, I'd really love to see it brick the 3DS. Thus pirates wasting the 300$ due to attempt of piracy.
