Backk on the title of topic...
I have installed IOS58 latest via wadmanager...OK
Updated HBC to the 1.0.8 and it is running fine.
And the downloaded the latest versions of apps that uses IOS58 to have USB2.0
Now the problem...when i run any app that uses IOS58 (excluding HBC) the system freeze and show me an exception screen...some kind of DSI error with many numbers
What maybe its happening?
Did you use tantrics 58 installer ?

http://wiibrew.org/wiki/IOS58_Installer
I dont have an internet connection on my Wii..thats why i use WadManager to install IOS58, because the tantrics installer download the IOS...
There is another way of installing it?
Does anyone notice my question?
A think its better start another toppic about Politics of Installing HBC....

One idea to obfuscate the ID would be to put it through a one way hash like SHA1.
I thought about this. It's useless because Console IDs are only 32 bits and thus you could trivially build rainbow tables or bruteforce any single ID.

If there is more than one fixed serial number in a wii, that would raise the complexity of the hash so it couldn't be determined as easily. Maybe the ID plus the bytes where there are factory bad blocks on the NAND.
HBC can't access factory bad block data. We could try to hash in the MAC address or something like that, but Nintendo surely has a database of those too, so they'd still be able to build tables of hashes.

How is choosing to run HBC any less of your "choice"? Your console ID also gets sent out every time you check for firmware updates. And periodically if you have WC24 enabled.

I think that if some1 is overly concerned with their ID being tracked... the best solution is to use some form of SNEEK (ie UNEEK+DI) but use a setting.txt on your emulated nand that is from a different wii (or have NUSAD generate one for you based on a ficticious serial).

edit: my bad

The console ID does not come from setting.txt.
should i spoil the fun about where the console ID is...?
This has been documented on Wiibrew at least as early as February 2009, so I'm not sure what there is to spoil.
cause no fucking gbatemp user ever checks the technical documentation on wiibrew

What's so interesting about device id so that you attribute a spoil value to it? I'm sure lots of people in the sneek thread already does know what is and where this device id is...
Not every part of wiibrew interests average users btw, what do you expect?

Jeez, a little harsh? Like wiihacks users check it? Or any other forum for that matter?

It's pretty much the elitists who read up on that shit, regardless of what forum they base their operations out of.

Anyways, no biggie

It is possible to "fake" the ConsoleID when running SNEEK and still run HBC. Are you at all concerned about this impacting your data? It is probably not statistically significant, but it might be worth noting in your results (for the sake of accuracy).

C'mon, guys. This is not a thread about where you can find your ConsoleID or who knows or doesn't know what and whatnot

Were those posts deleted because they talked about the location of the console ID? Sorry I'm late to the party so I must've missed that. I'm actually curious to know where one can find the console ID...

You might be able to sniff it as the HBC sends it if nothing else..... I doubt they'd encrypt that.

I thought you could see the console ID with xyzzy. And I believe it's somewhere in the keys.bin of a BootMii dump as well. (Unless I'm mistaking it for another console ID?)
But why would you even need the ID?

Ah, so I guess it'd be pretty difficult to actually edit the ID in the location it's stored. =( It'd be nice to be able to at least mask or fake it though. Oh well.
