Well, my old iPod died, some time ago, and now I think it's time to get over it, and get a new MP4 player. I've searched google, and so far I've found 2 that I've liked that are in my price range. ($40USD) One of them has horrible reviews, and the other has none at all. So, I've decided to ask you Tempers to help me find/decide for a MP4 player. The following features I'd like.

Camera
Music/Video Player
Touch Screen
Picture Viewer
Games (Optional)
Apps (Optional)

The 2 I've seen are...
2.8" LCD Touch Screen MP4 Player w/ 300KP Camera+FM Radio
And....
3.0" LCD Touch Screen MP4 1.3MP Camera/Mini SD Card Slot/FM Radio (4GB)

I can go a little over my budget, but yeah...So opinions/other MP4's/suggestions? Thanks.

Good luck with that.
Found 2, I just wanted opinions, but if anyone had any other recommendations, I'd be happy to see them.

^ Yeah, I'm starting to think that.

I did however find another. It's not touchscreen, but it has NES emulation, and all the other things I wanted-Apps.

Pretty sure hes suggesting to not buy a cheap piece of shit and instead save for a somewhat quality item.

I honestly think that the discontinued insignia pilots are very good, just MAKE SURE you get one in near-perfect condition. Amazon
The Insignia Pilot over there is minimum $60.

Good luck getting anything with a touchscreen and a camera that is actually a brand name/isn't a POS for $40.
Actually with the camera you are looking for a damn phone. Almost no players have one and they really shouldn't either.
:/

An older player that can be rockboxed (custom firmware) will give you much more functionality than a chinese player.

Support for over 20 audio formats, custom equalizer, custom skins, album art, image and text viewing, Doom (yes, the game), video support for players that don't have it originally (limited but growing), a tag database, it's multilingual, an optional spoken interface (for when you can't see the screen), a good list of games/apps, and more.
http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/WhyRockbox

I recommend a Fuze, the player seen above playing Doom and another game. You may see stuff on the rockbox site about the V2 versions of the Fuze not being supported, but the rockbox port for them is actually almost complete, you can do a manual download+install to get it working, I did it myself a week or so ago since mine's a V2.

It's by Sansa (who's been making Mp3/4 players and flash storage for ages), it's sturdy, it's not chinese shit, you'll get actual support instead of the standard chinese nothing, they have actual official firmware updates instead of nothing, they have a forum where they themselves post and keep stuff under control (instead of the usual chinese empty spammed board), basically don't go for chinese shit.

With rockbox on a player like that, you'll be open up to a bunch of stuff other players can't do (that one has a radio, too).
You may see stuff about a gameboy emulator, but it's a bit slow and has sound issues. Most MP3/4 players for that price range aren't powerful enough to emulate another game system properly, so forget it unless you find something used for a great deal.

Basically a non-chinese player with rockbox gives you all your requirements except for touchscreen and camera (both for that price limit is not happening), and sansa models tend to have built-in radio (which is separate from that slotradio crap) as well.

Seriously, don't go for cheap chinese shit. One has bad reviews because it's a piece of shit, and the other one has none because people know chinese players are shit and don't buy them.

I'm old enough to remember when people viewed "Made in Japan" as being synonymous with garbage... Thats certainly changed.

CookiesMilk, we certainly don't mean to slight you, or most of China's people.
Our problem is with blatant knock-offs and poorly manufactured products.
Many of these happen to come from China these days, but we would have the same gripes if they came from the USA, Great Britain, or Mars.
A bad product is a bad product.

And to the OP: I agree with Rydian's recommendation of the Sansa Fuze.
I too have the V2 version of the Fuze and am continually impressed with it's performance vs price. (got mine for $40 refurbished)
In the seven months I've had mine it has frozen up on me twice, but that's easily fixed with a soft reset. (hold the power switch for 20 seconds)

A bad product is a bad product.
The gripes would be worse if the product was from Mars.

Just imagine the shipping costs and the delivery time.
