I want one but I'm considering getting a Pandora first. N64 emulation looks good on Pandora, if they nail it I'm buying.

Gamestop keeps harassing me to exchange my 4 month old DSi for their DSi XL. I would exchange it if I didn't have $20 worth of games on it and if my hands were bigger. First graders have bigger hands than I do...and having something that huge just would bother me.

Waiting for someone to say something...

I don't see how the weight affects people, I play my handheld games with my arms resting on a chair, my torso, or my lap. Holding it out in front of you would make anything seem to heavy...

And the screens do look sexy

Dsi XL seems way too overrated In my honest opinion. Nintendo made the stupid decision of releasing the dsi and its newer counterpart the XL, not even a year after the latter was released (or maybe they did but it still was way too short of a time gap) I heard he XL makes game's resolution a bit stretched because of the bigger screens anyway

The pixels just end up being slightly bigger, but as the resolution is the same, and we tend not to concentrate on individual pixels, I'm sure the screens are just fine. I've also read that several people say the resolution is nothing to worry about.

EDIT: Was saying "just fine" too much.

Hearsay about something you can see with your eyes.. hmm.

I'm going to have to disagree there. I haven't seen any distortion and I've had played tons of my games on my XL which I've owned and used daily since March 28. I am also an amateur Acekard theme designer, and being very self critical I have noticed details on my XL I would never have noticed on my Lite which helped me make final alignment adjustments on calendar/clock elements, etc.
Ultimately, the screens look good and I love my XL.
I also think the timing was right. I wouldn't have spent my money on Nintendo's product if I hadn't found out about it in February- I would have migrated to a PSP as I had been planning to for some time. Though that's fairly subjective, I also consider the fact that more adults who weren't previously gamers, especially adult women, are becoming interested in gadgets like this which previously weren't considered fashionable. Though I've always been into games, my mother has only one Tekken 3 match vs me under her belt but now I see her fiddling with her iPhone all the time, taking/viewing pictures, playing puzzle games, and texting. I see the XL as a product that is bridging the gap between the functions of a portable game system and all-in-one devices, but not neglecting the primary function of entertainment.

The ONLY reason I got the XL is for the bigger screens, but only because my eyes are getting older and the smaller Lite screen was giving me a headache. I might use the SD slot one day? But the other stuff like the camera, built-in games, etc. no thanks!
I think if your a kid who cares how big the screen is, but when you start getting older it matters!

Other than the "Extra's" which you can take or leave (camera etc), the simple fact is the larger screen is the selling point and once you've parted with your cash you'll realise what the smaller screen on the DS lite was really like (Resident Evil will verify this).

it depends on how u use it.

I enjoy playing Ace Attorney single-handed while doing other things so the weight and size of dsi is perfect for me.

I dunno...I can hold my netbook with my left hand while I type with my right one

of course, I dont do it all the time cuz I wouldnt be able to type faster

but, lying on your back wile you play, now that's another story. maybe blood wont flow correctly to your hands and you'll get a cramp, even with a DS Lite
