I have just bought a M3i zero flash cart, and I was following the instructional video found on gbatemp. However I cannot fit the firmware update cable into the flash cart. I have made sure that it is in the correct orientation and slot. The cable will not sit flush I push it in as far as it will go without bending the cable. But I have never had any flashing or solid lights from the card. I have tried multiple pc's and usb's which makes me wonder if it is a problem with either the cable or card itself. I was wondering if anyone might have suggestions or possibly any fixes for this issue.

Well it turns out the people at realhotstuff.com don't stand behind their products! When I notified them that the card was defective they said they have never heard of that before, and directed me to a youtube instructional video and said make sure u are putting the cable in correctly... When I informed them that I have been putting the cable in correctly, and that the unit was defective they did not answer so promptly. In fact they have not replied to my e-mail at all! So beware anyone who buys products from realhotstuff.com!!! Because if you are an unlucky person like me, and get a defective unit they will do NOTHING!! And to answer your question I will post a picture up shorty... Right after I take my one my finals in an hour

Here is the pic of how i insert the cable into the cart http://yfrog.com/jdm3izeroj Then I have tried connecting it to multiple pc's and an xbox 360... I am certainly open to suggestions tho since realhotstuff.com is still a no go in returning defective merchandise

Really? It's a shame you had a terrible experience from RHS because it's a very well known USA store along with Gamebygame. I've heard they're really good for returns if anything is wrong... As to the Youtube instructional video, they at least tried to help you there because some people do have a problem with that, so wait a bit longer for a reply to your defective product. Unless it's been like a whole day since your last message to RealHotStuff.

I order from them all the time and have never had any problems with them. Did you try to talk directly to them through the IM support from their site? If you paid through paypal take out a dispute.

I first contacted them through e-mail, I got the reply pointing me to the instructional video within hours. Once I told them the unit was defective they haven't responded, its been three days now... I have not used the im support chat, however I'm going to wait one more day then I plan on calling them, hopefully then they will have to give me some response one way or another.

It looks like it's in properly actually. I'm not sure if it's supposed to go ALL the way in...

The first email may have just been an automatic response. It may take them longer to actually get to the email.

I got a defective M3i0 from DX once (and I know it was defective as I have bought three M3i0s before, and I know how they work, and this one did not work) -- and DX sent me a new one...after I send the dud one back -- but all was good in the end

if it updates then you will just have to be VERY CAREFUL when your updating it (hopefully you will only need to do just the 1 main update or once in a while)

I have a M3i Zero.... But.... i never flashed it =P all games works well but...?
Its Better Flash it? =P

Flashing the M3i ZERO card is not for the purpose of games compatibility!

It's designed to be able to make the M3i compatible with the latest DSi 1.4 firmware or possible future flashcard blocking firmware and without the use of another ds console to perform the update

Hello all good news. I have decided to call realhotstuff.com and they were much nicer over the phone. They told me to ship back the defective unit, which I did and then they claimed they will flash my new cart before sending it out to confirm that it works. I have already sent the cart in the mail so I will keep you updated as to when I receive the new one. And sorry it took me so long to respond, this is finals week at my college so this whole week has been crazy! Thanks for everyone for their suggestions
