changed, still doesnt work :L, i'm going to try the old 1GB SD card, but i'll be a bit pi$$ed if that works and the 2GB doesnt as im using the 1GB in the camera at the moment...
not 100% on this, more of a guess than anything, so I apologize if I'm wrong... but are you using a much older bootmii folder.

I suspect that the bootmii folder created from installing bootmii from the hackmii 0.3 installer may be different from newer versions of hackmii.

In other words, make sure you're using the bootmii folder/files for the version of bootmii that you're using (this would be the folder/files created on your SD card the last time you installed bootmii)

Ok, I've hit a roadblock with this version of preloader on SM 4.0U with 4.0U hacks....I'm gonna try to explain it to the best of my ability.

Here's my settings and what the outcome is:

If I set 'shutdown to' as preloader and power my Wii off/back on it powers up, then 'shuts down' to preloader....I see a green power light, then automatically see a yellow standby light, then it boots to preloader.

If I set 'shutdown to' anything other than preloader (system menu OR HBC) and I am at the Wii menu, then power the Wii off/back on, it shows a green light, then a yellow light in standby mode.....and does not boot at all....it just stays in standby.

However, if I set it the second way I mentioned and I'm currently running an app.....any app, homebrew or otherwise, it will boot up to the system menu.

In other words, the only way I can get the system menu to boot at power on is to have an app loaded when I power the Wii don, and only if I have not selected preloader settings to power down to preloader.

Hope I explained it well enough...I'm a little confused myself, so I hope I haven't done so to anyone else....

Does anyone else have this issue??? Is there a new hacks file for this revision, because I'm using the hacks from Wiibrew...which may be the issue, I guess???

Any help is greatly appreciated

Also, BGM is on & can't be turned off for me even though the option is there to do so....not a huge deal, but rather just a minor annoyance.

Thanks!!!

Hey goodmorning every1 just wondering if rev2 fixes the SDHC compatibility issue? i am certain it's preloader as my Wii and HBC read my card "no matter where or how i stick". Lol just couldn't help myself had to say it like that just for shits and giggles. No but yeah it's a real prob more annoying then dangerous for my Wii.

no, I'll run down the whole settings screen just in favor of saving time
smile.gif

autoboot: sm & HBC & bootmii IOS (tried all 3)
return to: autoboot & sm (tried both)
shutdown to: off
stop disc: on
slot light: on
ignore standby: off
IOS: 36 & 60 (tried both)

The only time I can get anything to start up is a: if I shut down while running an app....this is when the SM loads up just fine on power on.

b: if I set shutdown to: preloader...this is when it powers on, immediately starts standby mode, then automatically boots preloader (I guess this is b/c it thinks it's being shut down???)

I posted a solution to your problem 4 times in this thread, read its history, and hopefully the solution works for you also

Links updated to rev 3. Just one but very important fix this time that was causing some wii's to power down during the boot state when power down was set to off. You only need to bother with the update if you are affected by this issue.

Try the new version....it worked for me!!!! Hacks for 417 work, as well....except the BGM. But as I stated above, it's only minor & I can deal with that

if some1 has time, can they try the following on Rev3.

-install gxforwarder.dol as file in the preloader menu (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?nykt4zyndzq)
-set autoboot to file (the dol always stack dumped if you tried to boot the file from the preloader 0.29 main menu, but somehow it worked via autoboot)
-make sure you have the the following file SD:/apps/usbloader_gx/boot.dol
-turn on your wii
-hope for a gxloader splash screen

I'll would try this myself, except I'm not near a wii right now and I'm impatient, lol, so if no1 tests this I'll do it myself... eventually!

phpgeek, you are the man! Thanks!

Any chance of you taking a look at getting gxforwarder.dol to autoboot as an installed file properly?

This is low priority in terms of bug fixing but as I use this and cannot live without it myself it's right at the top of my list of non urgent things to do. Failing that I might compile a compatible dol as a short term fix.

Can you post the hack you are using? I'll double check that the address and hex is correct,

copy and paste the text for your version/region in a text document, then rename it "hacks.ini" and save it in the root of you SD card

install this today and it worked first time. Had to go into sytem setting and change autoboot to system menu and thats it. I also like the feature to boot to bootmii ios as well as homebrew and sytem menu.
Very cool and works with no problems or bugs that i can see.
