Ok so I'm really new to this, actually yesterday was the first time I'd messed around with my wii and within half hour screwed it and spent several hrs tryin to work out how to fix it...so hears the story...
I downloaded a soft-mod guide http://yafaze.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=1178 and the files on it. (I wanted to back up and use my games as my kids scratch them)
I installed homebrew and dvdx without a problem. I couldn't the bootmii to boot2 so I installed it to iso, but when it came to running the 'trucha bug restorer' I ran into some problems. I did step 9 which downgrades the IOS to IOS15. But when I did step 10 the IOS hadn't downgraded to 15 so I just left it.
I thought I had done something wrong so I went on youtube to watch a video which included files which i downloaded and put on my sd card (which at the time wiped the previously saved info for bootmii)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WaVk81nXQs
and the files are located here http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zm5rznwzzed
one of the files is eyesinthenight.csm - I installed this file on the wii (I put the entire folder contents on my sd card and inserted into my wii) when I installed the file it said the installation was successful and it restarted, it restarted to a black screen and the wii remotes don't work the lights just flash.
I used the gc-controller method http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPIzoqVizoQ and it worked to load a black page with 3.3(Eur) in right hand corner. I'm wondering if anyone could please tell me what to do from here I've tried all sorts of different files that fix the wii from the sd card such as wii_bootme and unbrickmii but doesn't seem to work. I've tried putting a game in it which has an update Wii active personal trainer...it sounds like its trying to read the disk but nothing happens.
The model no is RVL-001 (Aus) and the serial starts with LAH1...any help would much be appreciated I feel terrible for doing this to my kids...and we can't afford to get another one as we just bought the new ps3 last week.

Also if I do fix it I want it back to its original state...any advice plz...
Its still under warranty I'm considering taking the risk and sending it into Nintendo Australia...anyone have experience with them?

Ok so I fixed my wii and am hoping this might help others, I used save me frii (I started my wii up and help all for directions on a gc controller plugged into fourth port) as I knew my wii was operating on 3.3(eur) I hired a game with a 3.4 update...Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, when I got the black page with 3.3(eur) in the corner I inserted the disk, I waited about 5mins or so and the system restarted and was working like normal again...hope this helps someone else just remember to wait as I normally don't lol

This is the reason that people want to stay at 3.2 or 3.3 firmware if they don't know about bootmii so they can use savemii free to recover black screen bricks if your on 4.0 or .1 then you'll have no luck finding a game with a newer update

if you want to still softmod your wii use this guide http://yafaze.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=1178 but if you have trouble with a step don't go somewhere else and download more crap.that guide will work on any wii so if something fails repeat or search through the replys on that link. i have done new and old wii's with that guide with 0 bricks if you follow the basic step by step instructions.

That is the link I used in the first place and something went wrong with downgrading...I was thinking about using these directions http://gwht.wikidot.com/for-dummies I mainly want to be able to backup my games so that they dont get wrecked by my kids scratching them etc...any feedback is great thanks
