All revisions are tested on my PAL Wii 4.1E cIOS rev 13b before uploading
I really appreciate you posting the new dols and elfs you have compiled I've came to trust your work. This might be asking to much of you, but is there any way you could post a brief(very brief) description of what has been changed in the new rev ???

I know it can be found in other places, but I don't go there or really anywhere else as far as that goes unless I have a question and then I just reference the readmiiv2 site in my sig before posting here.

Another question just for my simple minded knowledge,
blink.gif
, What is your procedure exactly to test your compiles before you post them here ???

Do you just boot them and try a game or do you try to test the new features in any way ????

I'm just curios and thanks,
ChokeD

No problem. If there are significant changes, I generally announce them but to be honest the last few revisions have just been more code cleanup and redundant (for now) implemented features. I will in future copy and paste the source change information posted by the devs though, along with the release.

As for testing, I don't go into any great depth of testing, otherwise I'd never get to upload the file. Hence the files always come with the warning (although not much harm can become of a dodgy compile I would not think). I basically boot the loader up, check the version information, check it generally works, then just boot Wii Sports Resort (seeing as that's a problematic game for some). If it loads fine, I'll upload.

If memory serves. I used Neogamma initially to load the alt dol and watched the video. After that I used GX to load the game. I have video mode set to console default and the 002 fix applied.

That is all. WSR works on GX, Cover Floader, CFG Loader, Neogamma and WiiFlow for me with the same settings as above.

EDIT: This is on a 4.1E PAL Wii running cIOS rev 14 and GX rev 653. Wii Sports Resort PAL.

Thanks much for the reply,

I haven't got my Wii plugged in at moment but am 90% certain it is Anti 002 in fact most of my games use that setting as default now.

^ Might I ask what cIOS you're using? Personally, I'm using cIOS10 now. That, and cIOS9 seem to be the only ones to work correctly with USB Loader GX. 11 and up simply refuse to recognize my HDD. In the past, I was using cIOS12 with USB Loader rev 579, and that seemed to fail.

Ironically, just an hour ago my HDD had the same problem as yours. I let it stay on after a reboot, and GX wouldn't recognize it. I turned it off and on, then it went through to the game list and had the same game repeated multiple times again. Stumped as I was, I shut down my Wii and HDD, then turned on my Wii again and selected the forwarder I'm always using. Then I turned on my HDD and clicked "Start." HDD was instantly recognized, and game list showed up correctly. I managed to reproduce the same thing multiple times now, and I'm fairly sure that bug happens because the HDD isn't ready with spinning up yet, thus giving an incorrect game list.

Long story, hope my point got through. I'm using GX fine now - even updated to rev648 and everything's working like a charm.

I've been using cIOS13a.

I've tried turning on my HDD as I load USB Loader GX and it seemed to work each time however this was on USB Loader r479. I tried updating to the more recent revisions and although it would detect my HDD, it would only display one game multiple times again. Sooo basically I think I'm just stuck with r479.

cIOS10 also seems to recreate the same results as cIOS13a, a repeated game list, though I'm not sure if I installed it right. To install cIOS10 when you already have cIOS13a you just need to run the cIOS10 installer correct?

So basically I'm able to get USB Loader GX to work correctly albeit with an older revision, so thanks for your help!

With cios38 rev14 just use 002 fix in the game's settings.

Now that the Anti 002 error system has been removed with cIOS Rev 14, I wanted to know what might be some repercussions, besides the obvious, of setting the 002 Fix as ON for all games? I know it isn't that big of a deal, but it does suck a bit I have to set this on for every individual game now.

If this is the wrong place to be reporting/asking for help about my loader than I apologize >_<

SoftModded 4.0E Wii (cIOS Rev13 installed) with both the most recent USB Loader GX (HBC) and the most recent Channel

I have a 500 (well 465) GigaByte Hard-drive, I made 3 partitions, one was 32GB one was 400GB and the other was the remainder,
I believe the model is called "SeaGate" and like I said 465GB, not that its probably much help >_<

I used Dsik Manager to make the partitions, the 32GB was FAT32, the others were both NTFS, I then used WBFS Manager to convert it (400GB partition) to WBFS.

The Actual problem is my Wii just says "No USB Device", I tried both USB slots, with no result, oh and if it matters the device has no games on it at the moment.

I know I've probably done something wrong whilst sorting out the partitions

Ideas on what could be wrong.
- I'm missing a IOS or cIOS or some sort
- Partitions formatted wrong
- Or the one I dread most, the USB device just isn't compatible :C

Like I said, sorry if this isn't the place, just let me know where I should post it if I'm wrong
Sorry to be a pain, and thanks for your time

Well from what you say it seems like it should be working. But I suggest reducing the variables in order to pinpoint your problem.

I would attempt deleting all of your partitions at this time and creating one WBFS partition using WBFS Manager, but you shouldn't even have to create a partition before hand. The loader shouldn't have any trouble finding your HDD with either setup.

Of course ensure your HDD is plugged into the USB port closest to the edge of the wii (bottom one if the wii is sitting flat).

When I first installed GX, I had 0 partitions on my drive and the loader found it. I never was able to use it to create a partition but it worked with WBFS Manager.

Good luck!

If anyone is interested I updated to cIOS rev14 and everything seemed to work and then updated my USB Loader GX to r655 and everything seems to be just peachy. My HDD is detected everytime during my tests with none of the annoying problems I had before.

So thanks to anyone who helped me; I appreciated it.

USB Loader GX r655 - Click HERE to download

Changes (copied from Google project page):
  • Change the per game settings around a bit.
  • Made the channel browser read database.txt. The text should be in the config
path (because i couldn't think of a better place for it). And the format for
the txt is the first 3 chars of the 4 char ID, then any 1 character, then the
name (read up to 51 chars.
    eg.
ULN USB Loader GX Full Channel
    HAX Homebrew Channel
    HAT Nintendo Channel

The database for ATD mod follows this format, so its a great place to start. If
people are going to be passing around a database, it would be wise to keep
custom channels off this, as my WADD that says WadManager is not the same as
somebody else's WADQ which could be a self destruct or something.
  • Commented out the code that loads titles.txt. It was reported that this file is
keeping WiiSportsResort from loading on some Wiis. And it isn't needed anymore
since there is the xml file with all the names in it. I left the code in though
in case somebody thinks that it is actually useful.
  • Added 1 more game to the list of known alt dols.
  • Fix the bug where you see settings for the wrong game if you switch games during
    the game prompt.

Both DOL and ELF versions included in archive

!DOWNLOAD AND USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

All revisions are tested on my PAL Wii 4.1E cIOS rev 14 before uploading

Note: If you are going to 'test' these revisions and you're having some issues, first please start from scratch. Backup your SD card, wipe your SD card, and start again. If you're not at least prepared to try this first, please don't download and test these revisions, stick to the released stable versions. Thank you.
