hmm this reminds me of when i looked into BWII, there was a text file called 'hack.txt'.

not a clue what it was for, but maybe someone could point out what it is coz i'm sure i'm not the only one that's seen this?

anyways, i extracted it and got this when i opened it...

Code:

This file exists as a workaround to a bug in DVD emulation that leaves files open after they are supposed to be closed.

and it came from an original game disc by the way.

Just as stated in the file, probably a dirty workaround for a DVD emulation bug. This was only needed during development and has no effect whatsoever on the final release DVD.

I just got the classic controller to work by just turning the setting to ON. The only thing that works on the classic controller is the left joystick and it functions just as the joystick on the nunchuk would. No other buttons work at all. Seems to me this was a ghetto way to just control the characters' walking when the team didnt have a nunchuk lying around

You guys should really just learn to play the game. If you need to hack to play, then you really have no skill, and should probably stop playing that game. I've seen enough people online going through walls and stuff to see how many of you really need to stop playing. So grow up, learn to actually play the game without hacking

BTW: the only game i've ever hacked is pokemon, and i only used the pokemon that were hacked when we agreed on a battle with hacked only pokemon. I never have hacked a wii game.

If you had bothered to read through the twenty-two pages of this thread, you would see that cheating is neither the highlight, nor the goal.

However, while we're on the subject of "growing up", it goes without saying that part of maturity is knowing one's place in the world. If everyone were meant to be everywhere, regardless of prose, prowess, or purpose, there would simply be no room to breathe comfortably.

With that said, you should take your own advice: be an adult and find room to breathe. Clearly the oxygen we have here is of higher grade than you're used to; I can't think of any other reason one would post in the manner you have displayed.

Didn't mean to come off hard, but by having this entire thread, you are encouraging cheating. Not saying it's intentional, but it does make it easier to find. My recommendation: just stop posting info on it. I can't stand people who feel the need to cheat online because of stupid reasons. Not saying that anyone on here specifically has been hacking the game, but there are people who are doing it, and you guys posting your stuff here, provides easy access on how to hack it. Is it really that hard to just stop posting on here? o.0

Honestly, all the info is already out there for people to cheat online. Anything we may update on here would probably just improve the game for some people, without involving online cheating.

If there is ever an instance whereby your logic of "enabling" makes any rational sense, I will elect to no longer exist via extremely violent means. I suppose you would also like people to stop using backup loaders because they "encourage stealing"?

As I told someone of a clearly higher intellect than yourself, information is meant to be shared. The day we stop learning should be the day we die, and none sooner (unless, of course, you happen to be Republican).

Since you didn't take the blatant hint from my last post, I'll spell it out more direct: Go away if you have nothing positive to contribute. Nobody wants your "opinions" or "recommendations". Honestly, all the info is already out there for people to cheat online. Anything we may update on here would probably just improve the game for some people, without involving online cheating.

I understand that the info is already out there, but by putting info here, you are still making it easier. If the info is on a site that when googled, shows up on page 100 or something, or it's just really hard to find, it discourages people. I know that people who are desperate enough will find it, but by putting it on gbatemp, you make it downright simple. I know that certain people would want the info to improve the game, but there are others who would use the info to cheat. I'm not saying don't improve the game, i'm just saying, don't post how to do it. Find a way to provide better gameplay, without giving away a way to cheat. I know it's possible, it's just gonna take time to find out how to do it.

Edit: teq: So you think that every bit of information is meant to be shared? EVERY bit? Cause i personally think that some things are better kept secret. I would stop posting here, but then all this online hacking would continue getting worse, and while I alone probably won't make a difference, I can at least try. And while were at it, I don't agree with backup loaders for pirating games, but I do agree with them to backup games. It depends on how you use it, and personally, I wish Nintendo would take more legal action against pirates, but unfortunately, there are too many of them to go after.

There are more sites with this info out there than this one. So even if we did what you suggested, it would not be very helpful. Like teq said, if you don't have anything useful to contribute to this thread, you should leave.

Stop this moral/non-ever-cheating chat, and let's go back to the findings of the "CDGame.txt",

I cheat On-Line (Reload Speed, Binocular are the only ones) and even with that, I get killed and loose from time to time, cause my team is not able to capture a Damn AES and bring it to our base, and hence I like the reload speed at max, I often get with no ammo on my weapon, and ERGO.......I get killed, and with binocular sight on a weapon your radar goes away and I get killed by hand, so even with cheats against you, it is possible to win, don't come here saying that On-line cheating is wrong (cause that is not something new at all), if you don't like to cheat......don't do it.......and don't come here to post your lack of skill to do so.......in other words.......

I think everyone should take a step back and read the title of this forum. Wii - Hacking... This is one of the 10,000 most visited sites in the world. If people came to gbatemp.net and couldn't talk about hacking or backup loaders you might as well shut the site down. If you don't want to share information, don't come here.

I paid $50 for The Conduit. I don't hack it myself but come across hackers fairly frequently without feeling the need to cry to everyone about how somebody is cheating in a VIDEO GAME!. That's right. We're talking about a video game. Not an Iranian presidential election, not insider trading or Ponzi schemes. "Hackers are ruining this game for everyone

". Get used to it. If it can be hacked, it will be. When I come across a cheater I turn my attention to them and look forward to the amount of satisfaction I feel when I finally do kill them (and they can be killed). If you're that worried about your kill/death ratio, you really need to get out more...

Sorry to everyone contibuting to this thread. I just really wanted to vent about all the crybabies out there.

Furthermore, let me reaffirm that this thread was not intended for discussion of online hacking methods.

I'm more interested in what can be done with the engine in terms of customization and possibly even modification.

After all, this is this best looking engine for the Wii, as of yet. If we had a map maker, custom levels would shoot the replay value through the roof.
