Hacking How to use NDS-GBA link with pokemon diamond/pearl

Please forgive my ignorance on this...

But my son wants to be able to import his pokemon from sapphire (gba rom) to diamond (nds rom). I'm using M3 Sakura 1.4, June 2 -- It also says 1.35. I'm not sure which one is correct....

Here's what I've done without much luck (I think)

I select the nds game

I press X to open the settings screen

I press NDS-GBA link and select Sapphire (gba)

then I press OK to play the game

I honestly don't know what is supposed to happen when the two are linked. Sakura does say that the two are linked, but there is no indication at all in diamond.

Both of the roms are from the same region, I double checked to be sure.

Ideas, suggestions?

Hi,
do you have M3 GBA expansion?
Or do you own the GBA Pokemon Sapphire game?

Well the "link" works after you have defeated the Elite four in pokemon diamond.
So you can transfer pokemon at palpark.

If you have the M3 gba expansion, and your son has defeated the Elite 4 in pokemon diamond, then do the link option, press ok. When the game boots up, on after the "PRESS START" screen, you should see a option:
"MIGRATE POKEMON FROM GBA". click on that, then you can select up to 6 pokemons that are in the PC of Pokemon Sapphire.
Those pokemon can be caught in palpark.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I/he has the m3real, gba expansion, rumble pack.

I take it this also applies to pearl (nds) as well?

Will he be able to import from more than one gba game (ex ruby and sapphire)?

Yes same applies for Pearl.

He can transfer up to 6 pokemons from every GBA game per day.

Eg:
6 from Ruby, Cant transfer anymore on that day. 24 hours needed to transfer again....
6 from Sapphire, Cant transfer anymore on that day. 24 hours needed to transfer again....
6 from Emerald, Cant transfer anymore on that day. 24 hours needed to transfer again....
etc

So basically yes, he can transfer from different game cartriges.

No problem.
Also note: Dont change the time in the DS to skip the 24 hours barrier. AS it would take another 24 hours to transfer.
So changing the time in the DS doesnt speed up anything.

Actually, its 6 per cartridge per day.

So you can do 6 from Ruby, 6 from Sapphire, and 6 from Emerald in one day.

But you have to wait 24 hours to do it from the same cartridge.

Well i kinda said the same thing.

He is using M3 GBA expansion, so obviously he has got only ONE cartridge.. so its rather per "GAME". Because he can make copy of the rom and transfer over and over again from different roms.
