EDIT: your version works 100% on sd but the same shi* on sdhc .... on sdhc dsision crash on this when your (dsision screen) bootscreen fade out... shit happens, but it work on my sd ;-)

Have you tried encrypting the DSision_R4DS.nds version?

I tried both, 1st DSision_R4DS.nds. This one starts and let met sellect skins en change the options. But won't change to another folder. The other one gives me a green screen..

I will try your encoded version, maybe something went wrong with encrypting.

cheats wont work, when i will gaming with cheats i must start games directly via ysmenu...

Yeah, if ya look at the thread its already been discussed. Havn't found a way around it yet. Everyone has this problem.
I don't think this will be a big problem. Still can enjoy gaming.

Problem solved, don't know what went wrong.

Tried it with the new download, and everything works. Only the fonts are a bit ugly..

Hey i installed the Dsison2 on my dstt, but i didn't make it as TTMENU.dat only as a .nds and my ysmenu still the TTmenu.dat. Using the Dsision i load a game and turned it off, but when i turned it on it automatically loads the same game i played and when i soft reset to get to the ysmenu, it still loads the same game. So i put my 2 gig sd card in the computer to fix the problem but it says it can't be accessed because it was unreadable or corrupted and i don't wanna format cause of my saves i have in my card!!

Does the card still work in the dstt? IF it does, try running dsision2.nds from inside ysmenu. That should reset the auto starting of your game.

Why is it soooo sloooow accessing the folders contents etc
Starting it up through DSi takes ~10 seconds to show your 'Health screen' (something I'd like an option to bypass or remove) & then a further ~20 secs before I get to see my folders/ROMS

Changing between folders & it takes ~7-10 (if I'm lucky) seconds before the contents are shown
Even removing some of the graphics (eg Cover shots/Slideshow) or having just 1 or 2 ROMS in a folder don't speed things up

Any chance of 'streamlining' the launcher to speed things up, say - with a cache file
Instead of DSision 'looking' @ the card each time it starts to decide which picture (if any) is shown (which I'm guessing it does @ the moment) - it uses the contents in the cache instead. If a new program is installed & not found in the cache then give the user an option to 'rescan' which then updates the cache

Just for the record - I'm using DSTTi with 1.17 Firmware (with Fake-Killer disabled version TTMenu) & latest YSMenu on a HCSD 8Gb MicroSD card - could it be having a HCSD is causing the slowness problem ??

Any tips to help speed things up ??

Some people have noticed problems using HCSD cards with DSision, I assume this is a problem with the fat lib, rather than Dsision, as it does work fine with regular microsd cards. Have you tried using a regular SD card? Also, I don't have a DSi, so I have no idea about booting times, are you using the latest build of DSision2? i think its a couple of pages back. Does it still boot slowly what either 1. loading dsision from the ttmenu, or 2. using ysmenu instead?

Spinal: thanks for the info, here's an update
Firstly - I was NOT using the latest version, I was using the DSision 2 in the download section of GBATemp.

I found the 'latest' (on Page 22 of this thread) dated 'Feb09' & tried that on a 2GB MSD card - Speed is now acceptable (only take ~8sec from 'Starting DS card' on DSi to Folder Contents etc) & only a couple of seconds to swap between folders

After a couple of false starts,such as finding that Game ROMS need to be in 'ds games' folder & 'YSMenu.ini' & 'YSMenu.nds' need to be in root directory - I can now start homebrew & Commercial using DSision on my 2GB card with no problem

The problem now is HCSD card - which I don't think is yours but related to YSmenu

I copied over the 'working' 2GB files directly to the 8Gb HCSD card
When attempting to start comercial ROMS - I got 2 black screens & nothing else happened, so I changed the 'TTMenu.dat' over to the one you suggested in your last post - & now I get a black screen on top & the 'off-white' screen on the bottom (this also happened on the 2Gb card) - which I think is YSMenu 'starting up'.

On the 2GB I get the progress bar showing after a few seconds, On the 8Gb - Nothing at all,even after 30 sec or more.It just stays with the black-on-top/Grey-on-bottom

It seems like YSMenu has locked up or can't find the autorun file or something - I'm currently using the latest YSMenu (dated 2009/03/27) - so unless there's something else I've missed out (is there any other YSMenu files needed to be in the root path perhaps ?? - or do I need to 'patch' either DSision or YSMenu ??, perhaps DSision doesn't work with the latest YSMenu for some reason !!), then it seems if I want DSision I have to stick with a 2GB card

When I get time I will try older YSMenus to see what happens - as well as take a good long look through this thread to see if there's anything else that I've missed, & let you know if I succeed

UPDATE:
I've tried other (older) YSMenu's & the same thing happens on the HCSD cards - so it seems until a 'fix' is achieved I'm stuck with a 2Gb MicroSD card, because I REALLY like DSision 2 (much better than YSMenu or DSTT)

Hi Spinal, i have a slight problem. Recently, when using DSision2, if i navigate to my "apps" or "games" folder, where i keep my homebrew apps and games respectively, the backlight turns down and no icons load. i can still scroll accross, but with no way of noing what i'm scrolling to. Pressing A will still launch the homebrew selected, but i have no indication of what that homebrew is. This problem only began recently, the program was working fine prior to today, but now this. All files on the root and in other folders show up fine, except in those two folders. I'm using a Max Media Dock, if that helps. Any way i can fix this? I'll probably try a reformat soon, just need to get a few files backed up first.

EDIT: Turned out i wasnt using the latest version so i updated to the version on page 22. This made things MUCH worse. Now, i cant run any homebrew, trying to open any folder takes me to the root, and i cant access the settings screen properly. the old version could at least do more than this. also changing themes messes up the display. It's sad because you added some nice features, like touch screen scrolling and automatically moving past splash screen. Anyway, is there a fix?

I'm not 100% sure but I think there were a few changes made to the 'Latest' version
1st thing I noticed with my attempt was that I had to put ALL my ROMS/Homebrew etc into a folder called 'ds games' otherwise NONE of them worked -
You say you have 'apps' and 'games' folders & this could be the reason for launching problems - try putting some into a 'ds games' folder & see what happens

2nd - Were you changing from the default theme to 'DSi' ? - there is a bug (actually an oversight) see post 358 page 24 for details

The DSi 'theme.ini' needs a slight alteration: you need to change the
fcolour=#000000
bcolour=#FFFFFF

to
fcolour=h000000
bcolour=hFFFFFF
Apparently DSision now recognises a '#' as a comment & not as a HEX colour code

Also I didn't like the DSi font so I replaced it with the font from the ipod theme & it looks better

Not sure about your backlight - are you using a DS Phat by any chance ?? - I think that there's a problem with Phats/backlight & you need to change a setting in DSision ini file to let it know you have a Phat

To All:

Anyone found a solution for Game starting on HCSD cards yet ?
I've tried the altered TTMenu.dat Spinal has supplied me - but still not joy

One thing I have found out though is that apparently 4GB HCSD can be formatted to FAT16 (I don't have a 4Gb card so I can't check this out) yet 8Gb MUST be FAT32
I'm wondering if this fact is true & can anyone who has had problems with their HCSD (& it's a 4Gb card) check to see if they CAN format to FAT16 & try out DSision2 to see if it works

As Spinal has said - it could be all down to FAT16/FAT32 that's causing all these problems - although why YSMenu works OK if made as the initial loader, but when called upon by DSision it don't. Perhaps DSision is autopatching YSMenu which is causing the problem despite Spinal states that DSision does Homebrew direct yet uses YSMenu for commercial

(ok..ok.. so I got the letters the wrong way round - so sue me)

Anyway - I've uploaded a video to Youtube that should show what's Happening (or not as the case may be)

Basically - when using a SDHC card it goes through the motions up until we're launching YSMenu (I'm guessing that's what's happening when the screen colours change)
I'm not getting the 'Black on top/Grey on bottom' swapping places & the Progress bar showing up

This is happening with or without the modified 'TTMenu.Dat'

Hi, I have a 4 Gb SDHC card, I have tried before (Fat16 and Fat32) with previous releases and I can confirm it doesn't work, when you select a game the screens go blank and nothing else but YSMenu works fine on its own with the SDHC and seeing as DSision uses YSMenu to launch the games you would assume it would work ?!?
