Hacking USB Loader with Multiple Boxart Images.

I was debating how best to do the image download. But went with the method i have. If people want to mess around with it, please do! I wont have too much time to continue this so will try and get it at a almost finished state.

Did you try my download link. It's on the old R3 version but it works with the side images. I'm hoping you tried that out because it's almost perfect as far as I'm concerned. The only thing is you have to add images manually, but is that really such a big deal for people. You can find any game image online and just edit to 2 different sizes and place in proper folders. Yes it's a bit of manual work but it works and looks really nice.

I personally am sticking with my one just now. I've asked 56killer if he can let me know what features are included in my one because I don't know, and then have them as options to the buttons so you can turn on or off, then I will add those instructions to the instructions page so people know what's what.

AppleBelly, if your able to tell me what was included in R3 since you made it

Also just in case 56killer can't if your able to program it so the available features can be turned on or off with different buttons then that would be great. Let me know what there is and I can let you know what buttons I would like them programmed to, then I can update the information png I made, so it's clear.

I was having so much fun watching the covers download that I didn't even notice until now that it won't let me boot into a game.

Edit: LOL, I opened the png file in Notepad++ and found this:

I am going to assume you have updated to Rev10 and the 1.3 loader?

I'm sticking with Rev9 for now, so maybe that is the issue. I know a lot of people were having issues with the new Rev10 and older loaders, but for me it worked fine anyway so I don't see the point in updating right now.

Once my wii become avilable again i'll give it a try. Got the latest version with waninkoko's 1.3 change so will see if it works then.

Yes, the 1.3 Loader loads games fine, and so does USB Loader 1.1s.

Nothing happens when I press A in Applebelly's rev4. It's quite odd.

If the new Rev10 and Waninkoko's 1.3 revisions can be included great, only as long as it keeps the look of what I had and works the same way. If it can't then I might leave it for now.

As it is the way it loads with the files and dol I have in my download link, on the old Rev9, it's looking and runs perfectly fine. Yes there is the odd game like Deadly Creatures that still needs a disc to run, but apart from that it's loading brilliant. As I said I'm not really bothered having to manually make my box images, I don't have hundreds of game, I try stuff and delete it so I only ever have about 10 games at a time.

I was thinking I might even make a modified backgrounds where it could have 5 games at a time, 2 small either side and one main image. I would need someone to program it into the loader though so they are positioned correctly. So if they could make a outline template of where the images are meant to load to then I can make the final image for us all.

Ok so I need some clarity here. If updating to Rev10, does my loader still work as it did, and do the games load? If this is the case then I can update to Rev10 no issues. I was under the impression that most of the older loaders were not working and only 1.3 worked?

pap, the issue that image didn't download is because it did't exist on the site where it was trying to download from, interesting! Let the people in the Cover Image topic know the game id.

Yes, I found the file named r6bP78 instead of r6bX78 in Kodiac's PAL cover .rar archive, so I just renamed that one to R6bX78.png and put it on my SD card. I'll be sure to let them know in the Cover Image thread.

if u step up the two loops y,x by 2 instead of 1. The image is is copied to the output buffer, but only every second pixel. Or am I wrong. If not it would shrink the image visually to half.

I've managed to get FreeImage to resize the images. It was because of the size of them. Making them 128*180 makes them work perfet, sorting out the code for it all now.

Whats New:
- Small images again. When it downloads one it will make a small version as well.

Please copy all the files in the sd card folder to your sd card. Ensure the noimage files are where they should be!

Also if you have already downloaded images, you will need to clear your images folder and download them again (sorry!).

I'm on my way out the door, but I can tell you that you also need to make the "No Cover" images in a smaller size because right now you can see them behind the smaller Box Art pictures all the time.
