I don't mind people making amusing observations about the boxart, jokes about the title etc and they're more interesting to read than page after page of "Deleted: Pointless" "Deleted: Pointless". People asking questions over and over again in release threads is annoying if it's a half decent game but, come on, if it wasn't for people being incredulous about how many horse games there have been, laughing at the title or photoshopping the boxart most game threads would be completely empty. What do you expect to find in the release thread of Imagine Baby Fashion Designer? A video review? The meaning of life? A cure for cancer? The roadmap to peace in the middle east? or people saying "Jesus not another one" and pointing out that the hell-child on the front has a murderous glint in its eye?

DS releases are increasingly common these days, and taking the piss out of shovelware is a good past time!
I mean you have so many threads here, it's almost like giving every, single DS game a temporary forum, if you come to these threads expecting serious in-depth discussion, then something ain't right!

The whole "Deleted: Pointless" thing really gets to me though, why edit the post and leave proof that somebody said something?
(Does the forum not support actually removing the posts or is it mod policy?)
But I have to say that this really seems wrong:

Moderators leaving their mark on users, with their own name, it's demeaning.

Eh, seems a bit off-topic though, but that's another point of scene releases, it's hard to discuss these games without actually downloading them, and that's not something I'm about to do!

I don't expect a post that basically says nothing at all "WTF" is not a post nor is "hahahahahahaha", laughing at something and making a point at what it is you are laughing at is ok. No I don't expect the cure for cancer or the meaning of life, get real, I never said that. What I expect I is what seems to be pointless posting, posts that say nothing in any way shape or form, just for the sake of a post, or even the repeated questions without having the thought or the common decency to read the thread first. People who also post and slag off the game because its a genre they think shouldn't be released, like the Dora games, without playing it or seeing if the game actually suits the audience it was created for, shows ignorance in my opinion as its games like these that pay for the development of other games. If its a crap game (*looks at the Fantastic 4 games), then say so. If its a good game that works for the target audience then that is fine. The game gets posted as released and before its even been looked at, loaded or even tried, you get a crap load of stupid ( and I mean stupid ) comments.

I don't mind a joke, I don't mind having a laugh, but the posts here are taking a slow slide for the worst. Its been picked up here before and the mods and so forth have commented and cracked down on it, but it looks like ( to me anyway ) its happening again.. all the GTA threads prove my point on this.

I have moderated websites before, its a thankless task but I would hate to see this site take a nose dive through the stupidity of others.

I couldn't agree more. Why leave a comment when you have nothing to say?

I read this forum because I wanted to know if this game is any good, and I still haven't read if it is.

And with the whole GTA issue; the first hours the side was constantly down and when I could read about GTA, the only thing everyone was telling that the game wasn't working on their cart too! More than 800 posts!!!! How can anyone still find some usefull information about the game? I would suggest: If you read that the game is not working on your card, don't post saying that it's not working on your card too! Or asking for a patch for the xth time'.

Thank you

Sort of a "I do it because it can be done" mentality maybe?

I mean shitloads of youtube comments are just "lolfunny", the whole thing about the internet is that it's easy to just express things at a whim.
I think people forget you're to discuss things at a forum, not just state things.

We refer to this as 'trashing' posts. Of course the posts can be deleted, but then there is no record of what was said. While a regular user is browsing a thread, they will see "Deleted: pointless", etc, but mods not only see that, we see the post that was trashed as well, as if it had never been removed.

Anyhow, at everyone who wants to know if this game is any good: No, not really. I think that's been gathered by the comments already.

That makes sense, I've had one of my posts trashed in the past, and tried editing it to see if it was still there.
It was. But the fact I could edit a trashed post means I could hide from the moderators what was trashed in the first place.

Unless you have an edit history like vBulletin does.
Actually vBulletin has two methods of post deleting, soft and hard.
Soft deleted posts are simply hidden from public, they won't see the post or what was written.
Hard deleted posts are actually deleted.

To ensure that the poster is aware of why their post has been trashed. By deleting it they wouldn't learn and do it again. It can also be there for future reference (e.g. if someone's spammed multiple times on the forums).

It isn't our intention to make members feel that way but they deserve it anyway. The reason this is done is for the member to know which staff member trashed the post, should they wish to discuss it further through PM.

Actually, I prefer meaningful posts too or posts that are worth reading.

Sometimes I click into a thread because I really want to know what the title is and all I get is a bunch of "huh?" or "this game is stupid" or "the DS is getting stupid" etc kind of posts and I find that frustrating.

It happens to a lot of the Japanese titles I'm interested in. I'm learning Japanese now, so the Japanese titles are always of interest to me as I would like to know what kind of game it is. Is it an educational title? Is there a lot of Kanji? etc So I don't particularly appreciate clicking into the thread and finding out it's really about nothing worth reading at all.

And often times, I can tell that those comments do come from people who have never tried the game or who do not understand the intended audience.

Some of these games that get slammed for no reason other than someone doesn't play that kind of game, is the kind of game my 6 year old niece would love which is fine since that game was made for young children like her.

Also, sometimes, I really just want to know if a game will work on my R4 and if there is a work around for it. And I find myself clicking through page after page after page of complaints or questions that really have been answered before and I get somewhat annoyed.

I don't mind funny comments and jokes too but inane and pointless ones... I get really impatient with.

I was thinking that I must be getting old too. =)

The lazy bastards couldn't even be bothered converting the Crosswords to other languages so they've removed them all together and replaced the with shitty chess.

Solitaire? Sudoku? Chess?

I bet they don't measure up to 42 all time classics or Brain Age sudoku.
Actually ur not covering card games wells, as the 101 solitaire games or whatever it was called did them and alot more better than the paltry few in 42 all time classics...
