Hacking So uh, do I need to do anything special to run VC wads?

I've downloaded a SM64 wad and am planning to inject HM64 in it (A list somewhere says that it hasn't been tested but if anyone has tried this before, can you tell me if it works?). Since I've never used the shopping channel before, will I have to do something in order to run the wads? Or do I just need the Wad Manager to install it and then run it from a channel?

EDIT: And btw, if it turns out that this doesn't work, what's the worst that can happen to the Wii?

Yeah, all you need to run WADs is the Wad Manager application. As for what can happen to your Wii, from what I've read before I got into the WAD stuff, if it has a bad banner in it or whatever, it can brick your Wii. I assume this is because when it goes to load the banner from the channel to display it on your Wii's main menu, it'll crash the Wii and that main menu is the first thing that loads when you boot your Wii normally so you'd have a hell of a hard time ever getting past it. Apparently it won't screw with you as much though if that channel isn't displayed on your first page of channels (meaning it's not displayed immediately, you have to hit + or - to get to the page where it is). Just hope that you can reach your homebrew channel without running past it so you can go to uninstall it or just do the twilight hack again to boot up the Wad Manager.

Okay then. Hopefully it doesn't have a bad banner though since some have already tried it I think. What about if the injected game doesn't work?

An unusable Wii? Bad banners or 00000.app can ruin your entire day.

Does each game run on their own emulator or do they all use one? If they all use one, is it upgraded over time?

They start with a "standard" VC emulator and optimize it for each game.

If a problem is found they have been known to release a new version of the game but its a complete redownload.

Sorry for asking so much questions but hopefully this is the last one:

Is it still safe to inject a game into a wad that's already been injected for a different game, or would it best to inject the game into an actual VC title?
