No.. no way can that be real. Real microwave popcorn doesn't even pop in that period of time. Kids at college with hotplates under their table...and too much time on their hands.

Use really old phones, and you can do it in 10 minutes ...
Use like those old giant brick phones, from the late 80s/early 90s ...
But yeah, you can't do it with modern phones ... not unless you keep the call going for hours ...

You know what, I think it's possible for cellphones to exert enough energy or radiation to affect objects in close range.
And scientists/companies/TV shows that receive dirty money from mobile phone makers/service providers try really hard to tell people that phones are safe, blah blah blah bullshit and dozen years later people are gonna have tumors in their brains due to overexposure to cell-phones.

1) Brainiac said each mobile phone generates 2W, the article below said each mobile phone generates average of 0.25W, and peak power of 2W.
There's a huge difference between 2W and 0.25W. 0.25W probably came from the power output when the phone is not doing anything (probably even the screen is off too), and 2W is probably the power output when it's sending/receiving information a.k.a. calling or receiving a call.
The article intentionally significantly underestimated the power output of mobile phones, so that it looks like mobile phone users are safe from the energy emitted.
The article said 2 x 0.25W x 60 minutes = 13 degrees celsius rise in temperature. If you take out the underestimate and use 2W,
2 x 2W x 60 minutes = (potential) 104 degress celsius rise. For Americans, that's egg going from 77'F to 264'F. No you can't cook egg with cell phones because the egg has turned into charcoal already.
2) Power is a unit of energy per time. We know the Brainiac experiment's power, 2W * 100 phone = 200W. But how long did they keep it going? I watched the video twice and they didn't specify how long they did the experiment.
You can exert me with a gazillion W device and I'll still live if the time is really short. That's how time is a very important factor in power.
And before grabbing stupid oven mitt they could have touched it with bare hands, because again, you can always touch hot stuff for a short period of time and not get burned. And if it's hot your nerve is gonna react and you'll release contact before you even recognize it's hot.
Cooking egg in 2 minutes with 2 cell phones is fake, but failing to cook an egg using 100 phones is fake too. Mainly because if (lack of) Brain-iac really wanted to find out if they can cook an egg -opposed to receiving bribe money from mobile phone makers and service providers- they would have done more experiments with longer exposure.
People spend thousands of minutes air-time a month on their cell-phones, and human skin is no eggshell.
P.S. What Brainiac did is something like this:
A: Do you know if you can boil 100ml of water in a pot on a stove top?
B: I don't know let's try it
*pours 100ml of water in pot and puts it on hot stove top*
*waits 5 seconds*
B: Nope, you can't boil water using stove top.
P.S.2. I don't have problem against cell-phone makers or service providers, I just find this Brainiac experiment very offensive to people that actually have brains.
