The fact is, you are trying to say there's a relation of one to the other, when there is no actual proof of it. You are "assuming" there is. And we already have one known hacker who was interested in working on Switch NOT interested in working on Switch 2, throwing that entire assumption off.
sciresm is done in general - he had a very public retirement and has a day job. He isn't doing any scene anything anymore

gezine on the other hand is big in the ps5 scene and has shown interest

All this thread has turned into is people arguing back and forth about how fast a system will take to be cracked to.... well lets be honest most people on this forum just want to pirate games. But the simple answer is yes, the Switch 2 will be hacked. However when that will be is completely unknown and there is no real easy way to tell. It definitely won't be as complete of a pushover as the Switch 1 that is for certain. Hell it's probably going to be one of the hardest systems to crack. But it will happen eventually and there is no real reason to make vague guesses as to when and how it will happen. Sony once called the PS3 "unhackable" and.... well that escalated efforts rather quickly lol.

Me personally? I hope it takes a while. I'm so tired of "x game has leaked early" and how casual people are about piracy. For a forum that has strict rules against piracy its talked about and tutorialized rather commonly here. And I definitely don't want to be hearing bullshit statements like "it's for archival" when its just some stupid excuse they made up. As an actual archivist its one of the biggest insults I've ever heard and it's what gives people like me a bad name. (sorry for the rant at the end)

Right, but going by the situation with him, he's stepped back from public releases of his exploits. I think it's due to harassment by the entitled. Good on him for that.

Yes, more recently he has been submitting his exploits to Sony for their bounties

He recently got 2500 for one

If he does find a switch 2 exploit he will probably submit it to Nintendo, but he will probably also tell us he did it (but not release)

According to Nintendo's HackerOne page.... yeah if they had a kernel-level exploit they'd be getting a LOT more than that lmao.

I'm not claiming he has that, in fact it seems he doesn't have anything near that

He is just starting

The 2500 was for PS5

Nintendo makes you sign an NDA so you're not allowed to say basically anything. They're a lot less open than Sony, who allows you to publicly disclose the vuln after a time period (or after it's been patched)

Yeah when it comes to playstation people will just say "stay on this firmware" and another hacker in the scene can find it from there. With Nintendo you can't say shit if you want to get paid for it.

or wait for Steam Machine? :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:
As well as the probably 6 years that it would take for decent emulation. Emulating the Switch 2 won't be as simple as the Switch 1. Nowhere near as simple. Switch 1 just used a stock chip off the market that was publicly documented so figuring out how the X1 worked was rather simple. We are now working with a completely custom chip with zero documentation. Really if the system was hacked today and efforts started today we'd probably see good emulation by the time the Switch 3 launches lol.

Not to mention it is a lot more powerful. Pretty much any PC can emulate the Switch nowadays. I'm not sure that even a top end gaming PC would be able to emulate the Switch 2. Of course we won't know that until somebody actually tries it, we hardly even know much about the hardware powering the Switch 2, but just judging by the performance and graphics quality we're seeing, it's a quite capable platform.

Yeah Switch 2 would be the most powerful console people would be trying to emulate seeing that PS5 emulation is barely a thing.

So GVG put out a video about accidentally being able to watch YouTube on Switch 2.

The Switch 1 software "Super Animal Royale" has a link to a YouTube video on the title screen, that opens in the browser applet. Since it's YouTube, you can visit embedded links in descriptions. Some sites seem to be prohibited like Steam and Google, but I was able to navigate to a merch site linked on the game's promo video, which itself had links to other social sites.

Reminds me of the Puyo Puyo Demo on Switch 1 being used for early exploits.
I also noticed that although the Switch 1 software running in handheld boost mode would disable touch screen inputs, the browser applet did not disable touch screen inputs. That browser applet might be running in Switch 2 userland?

It has already been patched out from what I read, and personally I think that's a good thing.

It was a broken game that gave access from its setup, and you had to go into youtube in a broken way that didn't display a whole lot and it forced itself into an only 360p mode which is pretty bad on a handheld at that size and awful on a TV.
