You're the one flailing about here, acting like this is not a big deal and we're all poopy heads for daring to question Big Sony's decisions. Also what happened to that block?![]()
Now that it has been confirmed by Sony that:
A. Sony IS doing this.
B. You ARE clueless.
I'll bet you feel pretty stupid and are ready to apologize.
We'll wait...
The saddest thing about it is that no one will do anything about it. Most people won't care about the DRM and everyone will soon move on, while telling themselves that this "isn't a big deal".
And then the PS5 server shutdown happens and everyone will lose the games that they legally purchased after 30 days, with no (legal) way to get them back.

"WAAAAAH WAAAAH, ITS NOT REAL BECAUSE I SAID SO, INCLUDING THESE ANECDOTES THAT I HAVE NO PROOF OF AND ALSO EVERYONE ELSE DOES IT BECAUSE IT IS!, CHECKMATE!!!"It's not a big deal, and it was fake ass misleading and 100% inaccurate information. As has already been stated by another user, it looks like it's to prevent people keeping games after getting a refund. Licenses are turning into full licenses and the 30 day timers are being removed after the 14 day refund period. I don't owe an apology for shit. You two are the ones that owe ME an apology. Gaslighting pricks.
And what happened to the block? I came to the site when I wasn't logged in and saw your stupidity. Couldn't help but come back and prove you wrong, again. Now sit the hell down and stfu. You've already been proven wrong a number of times.
"Sony now requires you to connect online to play your games, period."

well obviously, because those would be older than 14 days and therefore would give you a permanent license anywayI'm glad its only for the games you bought around april and not older purchases.

Glad it wasn't real this time. I want to say that people being mad at this does show just how believable something like this has become, and people should be concerned by that fact. Something like this would not have gotten this much attention years ago because it would have been seen as too extreme. However, we've watched companies pushing more and more into horrible practices like live services, always-online DRM/normal ass DRM, and Microslop's push away from owning games and toward streaming them. The fact of the matter is, we are living in a world where something this stupid is possible and people should be upset that.https://www.gamespot.com/articles/p...icense-checks-for-digital-games/1100-6539651/
As suspected, all the outrage was for nothing, and the one guy who did the license check was correct, its a 1 time check, likely refund related. Lets see how many gonna retract their anger now and admit being wrong.

Very Funny.
Anyways people did digging and Sony did indeed try to sneak in the 30 day check ins for all future licences you can get that will lock you out of your games if you don't connect to the internet, making it so you don't truely own your games. you can stop trying to flail about being right now.

It took them this long to address it, after the firestorm, even though it very much proves that they can do this at all (assuming this claim ins't just them backtracking on what they intended to do, because the refund period gets nulled when you download the game onto your ps4/5) and also doesn't address the above post i brought to this thread's attention showing that no, the 30 day checkin is still there or the fact that CBOMBS are back againhttps://www.gamespot.com/articles/p...icense-checks-for-digital-games/1100-6539651/

Are you done insisting that you're right while slowly shrinking and transformimg into a corncob? I'm sure the Sony boilerplate response was enough for you.Not a single one of them will apologize or admit being wrong. Their egos are too big and their brains are too retarded.
@BlusterBong "Players can continue to access and play their purchased games as usual. A one-time online check is required to confirm the game's license, after which no further check-ins are required." Suck it. Now you can shut the fuck up and quit being a dumb little bitch.

For those in the cheap seats thinking this was an exploit they patched:

Your first mistake was trying to argue with the clowns on this forum.Say whatever else you'd like. I'm done with your stupidity.

Does the PS4 also need to be online?
I used to buy a lot of digital games but didn’t download them, although I haven’t turned on my PS4 for several years.

Sony never publically comments onm exploits anyway, thats why it was not mentioned when they were asked about all this, you can still reasonable assume they implemented this, at least partially, to combat such things, current and possibly future exploits as wellNo, because I was right and you were wrong. And you're still wrong about all the shit you said. I can't recall if I mentioned the refund exploit thing or not and I'm not scrolling to look but if I did, I was wrong on that. However, Sony never said anything about it being a preventative measure to prevent an exploit. But go on, keep trying to do that damage control for your stupidity. What is so difficult about admitting you were wrong the entire time? I literally just said if I mentioned the exploit thing, that I was wrong about it. How about you? Why are you defending your stupidity to your death, when you've been flat out proven to be wrong over and over and over and over and over and over? God damn, BOY. You dumb af. Say whatever else you'd like. I'm done with your stupidity.
