Hi, everyone!

I am very proud to announce that after 39 months of hard work, I have successfully completed translating the PS Vita version of Toaru Majutsu no Virtual-On on Vita3k into English! This includes practically all in-game text and graphics! B-)

Here is the reveal/release trailer for this project on Youtube as proof (sorry if it doesn't appear here on this forum post):

I've attached a .zip file containing the .xdelta patches to this post.

Some important things to note:
1.) This project is JUST a translation patch for a game, NOT a game itself.
2.) The only things I do NOT intend to translate are:
a. the "Dengeki Bunko" screen at the beginning, since that is an official company name,
b. the intro & ending AMV movies,
c. the trophies, and
d. the online manual for the game.
3.) This is a fan-made translation patch, which means that it isn't perfect.
4.) This translation patch was also geared more towards the single-player parts of the game, even though the multiplayer parts have been translated as well.

If you have any questions, just ask away!

Does this work on NoNpdrm as well? It says Vita3k but I can only play on real hardware and I would love an English patch for this.

Apparently from what I've seen/heard, .xdelta patch files should indeed work with Nonpdrm. But you'll have to actually apply the .xdelta patch files on a PC.
I can confirm the patch is only compatible with the vita3k version of the game, it does not work on the nonpdrm version of the game, however once converted successfully you can use it on a ps vita and use it as nonpdrm, make sure you have the japanese version jot the asia version of the game, the dlc did not work for me since like I mentioned I needed to find the vita3k version and as a ps vita user with no access to a vita emulator I didn't know how to get those.

The readme file included with the .xdelta patches will tell you where to get the Vita3k emulator. Also this project was indeed aimed at the Japanese version of the game, so don't worry about that.

Thanks but I already know where to get vita3k but I don't have a gaming computer that can run the emulator, anyway, turns out the patch while was successful seems to be compatible on real hardware but reported to have incompatibility with vita3k which is weird, how ironic, I'm inexperienced with vita3k despite being an experienced huge ps vita user.

Oh, okay then, you just weren't specific enough.

Could you please elaborate on this? The Vita3k emulator never gave me any compatibility trouble at all while I was doing this translation project.

How ironic, I'm inexperienced with vita3k despite being an experienced huge ps vita user.
Even more ironic, since I do have a gaming pc that can run Vita3k & know how to use it, yet I don't own a real PS Vita.

Hi, would you mind explaining your process step by step. I patched the "base game" of the Japanese Vita3k version of the game. Was not able to find where to use update 1.04 patch stuff. Anyways, I then placed the patched PCSG01089 folder in my apps on my Vita using vitashell. However, even after a live area refresh the game is not appearing. I am clearly missing something and would greatly appreciate some help. Thanks!

The path to the Update 1.04 .cpk file should be: "ux0\app\PCSG01089\patch_cpk". You'll find a single file named "Patch01.cpk." That's what you need to apply the .xdelta patch to.

There was no "patch_cpk" file in that folder for me. Strangely enough, the game runs in Vita3k with just the base game cpk patched. Trying to get this up and running on real hardware after seeing Sonictopfan got it to work.

"Patch_cpk" is the name of the folder in which the Patch01.cpk file is located.

Here is a picture of what I'm talking about:

Sorry I was away for a while and did not get the message, do you still need help with this? I managed to get this English patch to run on real hardware about a week ago with the 1.04 update and the dlc.
Thanks for the response. I did get it working!
