I was reading this thread and had a thought
The same RAM package has a 32gb version
soooooo.... would a 64gb switch be possible in terms of hardware (extra power consumption? controllers for RAM?) and software or is this just a stupid idea?

I mean ram upgrades have been done. But that doesnt really solve the problem. Games aren't held back by the amount of ram but the clock speed of the ram.

Software has to be optimized for the amount of RAM a device has, is not like adding crazy amounts of RAM and expect the software to know how to deal with it out of nowhere.

Most RAM upgrades I've seen have worked because the OFW already can deal with the increased RAM, but I don't think it will work out of nowhere with 64 GB of RAM, with software (apps and games) already optimized for the "out-of-the-box" RAM quantity.

No, this is not possible as the Tegra X1 only supports a maximum 4GB of memory.
So the additional memory will just completely be ignored.

Remember that this chip was designed for settop boxes, handhelds and other simple media devices.

I never wanted this to be practical, I just wanted to see how far this nearly 10 year old console can really go
i thought about using Ubuntu as it should have better support for high RAM amounts right?
