Completely wrong, price of everything went up at least 30% within just this last month, and that's just for products made/sold within the US (which still require materials from elsewhere). The rich continue to only care about how the stock market is doing, not the actual US economy. Job losses continue to mount, and recession indicators are everywhere. Trump didn't even need a pandemic to help him fuck things up this time around.

The broad, pointless tariffs went into effect on August 7th. Even the countries he made "deals" with still had a tariff of some 15% or more imposed on them, and the price increases were notable on several products I've bought over the past month.

Hell, GBAtemp's front page is an example unto itself. Price of every console has increased over the last couple months, and some companies are even using it as cover to increase the price of digital goods.

If I'm being generous, most products at the grocery store have stayed the same already-high price over the last two months, and fast food places are getting aggressive with their pricing at the moment, but that only demonstrates how desperate they are to win some customers back. It's prices of all other non-consumable items which have jumped noticeably to everybody with functioning eyeballs.

If I'm being generous, I'd say you just dropped some casual hyperbole and it's not a big deal. But if I'm being fair, I'd say you posted disinformation that, if it had been me, someone else here (you know the whos) would've immediately nosedived into this thread with a "Prove that shit!" post. And then keep pounding on it for days that I'm a liar or worse. Hell, even yesterday I had someone demanding a source for the definition of the word compromise. I gave him the verbatim dictionary definition and I explained the latin root of the prefix. And he still doesn't get it. I could tell from your reply that you did, because you responded with a "yes, but ..." justification for it.

I don't really care that you claimed prices of everything went up 30% in one month, even if that's a ridiculous thing to say. Consumer price index for this year so far is the same as last year. It was '21 and '22 that were really terrible. But it needs said ... when it comes to this practice of demanding sources for every utterance here, mind your own posts first.

My guy. I work at a certain membership retail chain. I can tell you coffee has spiked in price to an absurd price, and many members were startled at either checkout or when looking at the price on shelves.

Near universally everything has gone up in price to ludicrous degrees.

And I can vouch for this in Canada, as well. And not just for coffee.

Tariffs, whether they are badly enacted or the act of going back and forth in decinding whether to apply them or not, affect the supply chain of many products worldwide, due to uncertainty.

No. The data does not back you up. 2021-2023 was when prices skyrocketed the most. The CPI has only increased 2.9% over the last year. Which was the same as the year before that.

guess you can't teach maga anything (they probably failed gov class in high school (fun class for me our mock congress tried to pass legalizing weed (mind you this was in 2004 way before the health benefit studies)

Once again, the data does not back you up. Please submit your corrections to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Consumer Price Index division.
