Donkey Kong Land 2 lands on Nintendo Switch Online

Just a few short days after releasing Donkey Kong Land onto the Nintendo Switch Online classics library, Nintendo is following it up by also putting Donkey Kong Land 2 on the service. The Game Boy game is now available for subscribers to the service, but that begs the question: how many days will we have to wait for Donkey Kong Land III?

Think the worst part is the fact they don't emulate the super gameboy features. So we stuck with green vegetable color instead of a "enhanced" color pallet or borders. Just what would happen when the other donkey kong game for gameboy gets put up here. No pauline scream and no changing colors. That is sad. They lucky Donkey kong land 3 japanese version and donkey kong country are gameboy color versions.

Because most fanmade colorization hacks look terrible. The one you just supplied doesn't look like an exception.

That came surprisingly fast. I want to believe Nintendo listened to the fans screaming "But what about 2?! That was the best one!!"

Say what you will, but these games should have waited for the Gameboy Color to be made before coming out. The 3rd game has a full-color Japanese version. Fans have been making an English translation hack for it:

I know we're entering subjective taste territory, but I'd rather play these games in regular gameboy mode. The coloring just look too weird to me.

I think this is done right in the Country port for the gbc. Here there was no backward compatibility worries and they did a really good job with the sprite color limitations. When playing this on a gameboy as a kid I was sold this was the real shit.

I have that translation. It was made by an user named Blaziken257 if I remember correctly.
