I've got some experience with OS dev and my understanding was that factory resets are conventionally designed to get it back to an actual literal clean slate (besides the device specific partitions for stuff like serial number and wireless hardware MACs). Leaving some files through a wipe creates a risk for bricking longterm and can make it much harder for service techs (though I guess nintendo might give their techs jtag-like hardware debugging methods)

Unfortunately, I can't link you to the source of the "logs persist after a factory reset" claim, but Switch banning hub might have an answer for you. @Draxzelex might be the one to ask for the source.

Too answers that question is easy. The factory reset format only the user partition. Logs are in the "system" partition. So even your factory reset will get logged. Since the system partition ain't touched.

I havnt got around to trying tbh. They got packed away somewhere in the move that im still stuck halfway in

Probably AliExpress. They had one store for the Australia called MIG Switch AU and they're apparently out of stock, according to their website.
If you aren't in a hurry, I'd wait for the UnlockSwitch to see if they're product works or not. It should be much cheaper than the MIG Switch and the Dumper.

Just to clarify, if I buy UnlockSwitch Solo without WiFi antenna and I don't use my own cartridges to play the games, my console will be banned as soon as I connect it to the internet, is this right?
