You need to convert your video using ffmpeg before playing it on the video player homebrew..

If you spent a moment trying to learn about it for yourself, you would see that ffmpeg is also available for the Mac.

Once you install homebrew, It does tell you to re-open a new terminal window. After that, you will be able to use homebrew (the brew command), to install ffmpeg and use it to convert your files as described in that 3ds mp4 video player.

Handbrake have a version for Mac and they have a built in preset for the 3ds specifically. https://handbrake.fr/downloads.php
