Any chance (if you get some spare time) to make a similar patch but just without any expansion songs added into the game?

otherwise, i'm still really thankful for the work. It's great to play this fun game with a few nice tweaks.
I'll do it this evening when I get back home.

Also I read the entire thread and have no idea what's going on. I'll take another take through or two to see if I have make any better sense out of it, but it's 11:30 PM and I'm used to being in bed about 10PM so maybe that's why I don't get it... Anyways...

About the file on hacken.cc named ABBJ_Perfect_sammy.nds.zip. Thats just a save or maybe a patch ?
The file i have is obviously bigger. Picture to show you below, i'm pretty sure it includes all the songs.
I haven't played it for years but back then i was running it on an old SuperCard SD.

I believe I already suggested something like this to you in PM, donno what happened to that. This way others can play it to check if it actually has all of the songs in it and such.

i have a gba expansion that i can do daigasso linkage with, and it'd be nice to use your work but not have songs replaced.

would it be difficult to edit the expansion too?

edit: wait... i have a feeling you went away somewhere... anyways...

There's a Expanision modifier!

A "readme" file transltaed by "kungdavid" (to swedish) and to english by me.:
To make a custom expanisionpack you need :

mkbberom/
mkbberom.exe
ZBBJ.GBA Tsuika Cartridge ROM
BBEROM.GBA Output File
root/
DATA01.BBS BBS-files... put them in /root
DATA02.BBS
DATA03.BBS
;
DATA63.BBS

Up to 63.

Works With Ezflash 5 and Expanision.
Pretty (Read extreamly) neat!

Oh, btw!
Could someone make a custome name editor or something like that?
When u convert a midifile to a daigasso file the name will end up in "????????????????????????????" or "Untitled".
Annoying in multiplayer =P

Great Patch. I can finally play the expansion songs.

However, it looks like there are only 29 out of 31 songs of the expansion patch. These are the 2 songs that are missing:
- Shin Onigashima - Yama e no Michi
- Famicom Tantei Club - Ayumi's Theme

Also, the game freezes while playing special event: pro level 1. It always freezes after the second song. Im pretty sure this is because there are only 2 songs with a 1 star difficulty in pro mode. You might want to replace 2-3 non-expansion songs with songs that have a 1 star difficulty in pro mode. Maybe put in: seasons, point of no return, and fragile?

By the way, im using extension mix with touch

no the song number is not a variable, it was probably a define in the C header. So to expand the number of song you'd have to track down every routine to modify it... I won't do it, it's not worth it.

If i make a list of songs that i really like and keep it below the song number variable, would u make a patch for it?
Btw,it is really awesome!

EDIT:
Nevermind,i put 2 roms on the SD card, one with the original and one of the expansion!I'm so happy!
Thank you very much deufeufeu for doing all that work!
I admire all the things you have done for the community!
Keep it up man!
Greetz,
Lex

Another EDIT:Were from france are you?
Im from Belgium.
The internet sure makes the worl a smaller place!

So if I dont have a GBA flash cart I can only use the "Daigasso Original Mix" patches right or do you have to have a GBA cart in order to use the expansion patches?

Edit: Also what's the game difference bwtween "TOUCH" and without "TOUCH"?

You can use the expansion patches with a slot 1 card just fine. He just replaced the midi files and file names for the songs.

2: Touch are this annoying feature in non-pro mode where the harder parts of the songs you can just touch the touch screen and it will fill it all in for you. Our gracious op has removed the touch feature so you can actually play those parts of the song since pro mode is much harder.

The only patch is DFF's one, it translates the song titles. I think that the majority of thext in this game sis just BLABLABLA. Also, most of the menu is in english.

BTW: If you own a SLOT-2 card, making your own expansion rules.

deufeufeu, your site is down... Great work anyway!

As said before, all these editors use the save file format for songs, and it's not as expressive as the format used by the game.
That`s actually wrong. Save file format (BBS) is almost the same format used in the game. Tempo changes, volume changes and some more events are available, but only not for in-game editor.

I`ve added that Midi to BBS tool in download section, along with name fix for untitled and ???? type of names. And I have to say it`s not that bad, it has few specs that you have to follow, like starting with second measure and 2 octave limit, but in the end you will get quite good results. Too bad there is no source for this tool.

No it's true, sorry.
In game file format allows for dynamic remapping of the buttons to a range of notes. This is a must-have feature for making songs convenient to play.
