How about Samfitzgamer. positive. I have official N.WIIU SDK and N3DS SDK by nintendo. I could use unity but the truth is that the versions that export the package do not support tilemap and other tools and since I did not buy the 5,500 dollar development kit. Do you know how to configure at least for psvita since it is the version of godot 3.5 or I don't know if a more recent version of Godot for 3ds is already available? I hope to get some help.
thanks Samfitzgamer

Will this ever be upgraded to ver. 3.5.x?
hello. What's up guys... godot version RC3.5 for PSvita if this. by developer SonicMaster. but for n 3ds it is version 2.x very complicated. and i tried to export for psvita and 3d including the port for nintendo switch and i get nothing.
I have already exhausted the attempts and decided to buy a version of PIXEL GAME MAKER WITH PORT FOR NINTENDO SWITCH
not if I'm sure with what I've read Pixel Game maker MV is an engine dedicated to the creation of content and video games, and currently consists of the port for Nintendo Switch
according to Gotcha Gotcha Games agreement
I hope it is the best decision I have made. if someone has extra knowledge the help would be good... good luck

I'm probably just doing something dumb, but i have everything needed to build from the OG post's instructions, and i have no clue where to put the command. It fails in visual studio and in python, and it's nearly driven me insane, so any reccomendations?

not a dumb question at all my man, i'd like to know as well. Development with unity is a bit hard and awkward. If godot does the job smoothly and easily i'd gladly jump onboard and start making some dumb minigames
Keep in mind that using Unity is also illegal

I haven't worked on this for a while because I'm focusing on other projects, it should however be usable for small 2d projects

3D isn't yet supported

i got the SDK by legal means when it was still possible, so it's sorta ok for me to do it i assume.
You still can't make homebrew with it because you signed an NDA saying you wouldn't

It's highly unlikely Nintendo will actually come after you at all, but you will have a hard time sharing it (ex. we do not allow Unity homebrew on Universal-DB for legal safety)

if i wanted to make a proper game, legally, would nintendo even give two shits about allowing me? or all the roads lead to my game/homebrew/whatever collecting dust in my hard drive?

Anyways i gave up developing for 3DS, my experiments ran quite slowly, there's way too much to be done regarding optimization for it to run decently and im not that good or patient. I did set up the sounds, the materials, and all that in the most optimal way, and i would still get slowdowns after a while. It's kind of a hassle to also set up the banner, etc.

It's fun to be able to run stuff on 3DS tho, i guess.

I started the work on porting godot 4 to the 3ds.
the first step which was the hardest part is done (which is to get godot to build at all to begin with)
now i'll need to work on the OS interface and the renderer.

it probably will still be taking time and not all features will be supported but i'll try to make it easy to use to make 2d and 3d games on 3ds using both screens at least

I got godot 4 to build and run in headless mode with gdscript working on the 3ds
now I still have to work on the renderer and audio though

so, i was able to get it running on O3DS, however, i think it will require a custom patched luma3ds so that luma starts homebrews in extended memory mode in order to give godot access to 80mb of ram instead of 64mb of ram

Wow, I was curious about something like this existing as I was getting the hang of Godot 4. It's awesome to see this actually being created, and by a fellow French individual! Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Keep up the great work!

Very exciting to see a Godot 4 port for the 3DS.

How close are you to a 2D engine / 3D engine?
have you thought about some basic profiling tools? something simple like System, Device VramA, B memory read outs.

Base off how far you have gotten how much over head do you estimate Godot will eat into the 3DS memory pools?
Unity eats around 25Mb or so so just curious if Godot was more performant.

Its very cool you are working on this, curious what kind of game would you like to see people make this conversion?
also ..this is far along but will you allow developers to sell completed games using your engine? I could see people making retro games with this in the long run once they learn the optimization tricks of the 3DS.
