Just to confirm, I think it is broken right now? A fresh compilation I did hours ago doesn't load (or show) any file while trying to pick an ISO, instant DSI crash when trying to use the ".." button. Compiled WiiSX works without issues.
@niuus

Compiled latest main branch of WiiStation, with the Lightrec implementation merged.
I couldn't reproduce your issue.

(BTW I created a branch for maintain the old PPC dynarec WiiStation for archive purposes).

Anyways, i will post the build i compiled here.

Latest build of WiiStation as of March 19, 2023

WiiStation - main branch until git 23417c1
https://github.com/xjsxjs197/WiiSXRX_2022/commit/23417c1cff4bfeb0b1df63776f2c7fc7766a797e

Latest change on main branch is finally adding Lightrec for replace the old PPC dynarec, that the author experimented with some code changes on this Lightrec branch https://github.com/xjsxjs197/WiiSXRX_2022/tree/Lightrec , for try to aim more speed at PS1 emulation on Wii while maintaing compatibility (i think so).

Please test these builds, thanks ;)

PD:
@niuus

Is it just me, or the game Digimon Rumble Arena now it's not fully working?
Playing the USA release, there's some black screen flashing on character selection screen, and when on battles, you can't see anything except just a black screen but music still plays.
Same happens on latest compiled WiiSX.

On old PPC dynarec (before the Lightrec changes) it worked fine.

Also seems to be having problems when loading the Memory Card data in Digimon Rumble Arena (USA) (this was an issue in the past, but with very few games). I'd suggest making a duplicate of your memory cards to another folder if you have important data, there is a small chance of corruption. Doesn't hurt to have a backup.

Now, for everyone else, expect some games to have different results/compatibility for a while, as the new dynarec from WiiSX is a big change. A new list from scratch would be ideal, i'm keeping a historical RX 2.2 up to 3.3 document that i've doing for years and i'll publish later. I don't think i'll ever re-test 800+ games, but i'll keep a new page for everything since Lightrec and onwards.

@niuus Thanks for your suggestion.

My bad, looks like the new build of WiiStation had conflict between trying to loading a save from the old PPC dynarec.
I deleted the save, reset the settings of the emulator, and now the game works fine, like a charm.

In other words: false report, Digimon Rumble Arena is still working on Lightrec.

Update: looks like Digimon Rumble Arena doesn't like Frameskipping option. Enabled it for fix some slowdowns... but that game didn't like that option, so it turned black.

Ah, so the problem was that you loaded an previous savestate. Never do that between key changes in the emulator, it will screw the game 100%. Well, at least it is working for you now.

Hmm, I kinda remember in the past that the emulator didn't always like changing that option in real time, maybe try loading the game again, might fix it.

@niuus

Tried even appling frameskipping option to ON, saved the settings, reset the emulator, and loading Digimon Rumble Arena again. Still doesn't like Frameskip option (black screen on battles).

I couldn't test much as the game doesn't let me go past the MC screen right now and I did not delete the previous MC (yet), but isn't the game not fast enough now to not need Frame Skipping?

You need to play the game Digimon Rumble Arena with the controller set to "Analog" (DualShock).
I tried to use Frameskip at this point because on battles it still has some FPS drops (tested on Dolphin).

Now past the screen, title screen and menus have slowdowns, but gameplay runs full speed on Wii, at least on the first Arena, and even battle demos. Probably a Dolphin emulation issue with this particular game. Frameskip does indeed cause black screens but every few seconds, not a total blackout.

Thanks for aclaration @niuus

I can't check this with real hardware (because i don't own a real, physical Wii/Wii U console) but thanks for the info.
Maybe Dolphin has a few issues emulating Wii homebrew?

Well, to be honest, it's a though ask when going many emulation layers deep. You're running a PSX emulator inside yet another emulator! :yaywii:

Anyway, at least I can confirm you that the game does indeed run fine on real hardware.

On old PPC dynarec (before the Lightrec changes) it worked fine.
Big crashes since the first Lightrec build:

Case 1:
- Start the emulator. Load any game from the SD. Whether you start it or not, it doesn't matter.
- On the menu, load any other game, but this time from USB.

Exception DSI crash. You can't restart or go back to HBC, you can only power off the console.

Case 2:
- Start the emulator. Execute bios. Go back to emulator menu.
- On the menu, load any game from USB.

Exception DSI crash. You can't restart or go back to HBC, you can only power off the console.

Case 3:
- Start the emulator. Execute bios. Press reset on the console.

Exception DSI crash. You can't restart or go back to HBC, you can only power off the console.

Case 4:
- Start the emulator. Load any game from SD or USB. Start the game. Now, press Reset on the console.

Exception DSI crash. You can't restart or go back to HBC, you can only power off the console.

I have reported the issues mentioned to GitHub.

Anyways, when this gets revised, could you try this new build?

1.- Been awhile since i provided updates regarding compatibility issues, but i tried the latest version of Wiistation before this one, and games that before fluctuated at 45fps-50fps now seems to run at full speed, even faster in some parts like SotN Health potions that materialize after defeating a boss, but that is only if you run dither in default, early today i tried with OneNo and Always and Sotn was laggin as it did before in some areas.

2.- Tetris with Card Captor Sakura softlocks after the BIOS boot.

3.- And i tried to load ISO from USB and DSi crashed! (Is there anyway Dsi crashes on Wii in general ever be fixed?)

4.- Also, aside from that, in my machine, for some reason while running every 3-4 minutes, i get like a half minutes of 2-3 seconds hangups, when everything pauses and then continues, and i find ZERO way to get rid of it.
