    Played the Genesis version of Sailor Moon on vWii. I freggin LOVE scanlines! Sad that the only vWii emulator that has support for scanlines is SNES 9x.

    Scanlines make the game blurry as hell on an LCD or OLED TV. Without filters and the proper scaling, it makes games look pixel perfect.

    If you're going to make something GameCube themed and you don't use the button layout then DONT, please fucking DONT. GameCube themed shit using the fucking SNES layout is just appalling.

    Honestly, I'm not a fan of GameCube controllers - due to the weird shape and location of the buttons, I've always had issues remembering which one's X and which one's Y. Also, the B is tiny, and the C-stick is nubby and stiff. Not to mention the also-stiff D-pad...

    I did buy a GCN second-hand with some good-quality controllers; it's just that I don't like the actual design of the controller. The only good thing is the ridges around the analog stick; that made playing Majora's Mask VC (on Wii) easier, particularly the Goron Mask part of the Moon.

    It's really hitting me that a lot of entertainment created these days simply don't have people like me in mind. Then again, I'm probably such an oddity to the point that I don't matter 🤷🏾‍♂️.

    Yep, feel you there... The (mainstream) world has no more place for you old man. You sure will find entertainment suitable for you, but you will have to dig or create it yourself. It's not bad to be old and forgotten, society doesn't suck as much of your time anymore can do whatever you want with it.

    Even as part of generation Z I find more comfort in a lot of things made before my time. It's not just generational differences but things actually have gotten worse on average these days. But maybe that's just cynical nerd me talking, lol

    ...My heroes are mainly videogame characters; can't exactly meet them. As for fandoms, I've found there's quite a few good fanfics for My Hero Academia and Persona 5 and stuff, so it should be fine imo.

    I want to go back to the days of your device doing exactly what you dictate. None of this AI, auto correcting or AI thinking it knows what you want. I click a button and the machine does exactly what I want.

    I use Windowmaker on my Linux desktop, which is based off of the 30-ish year old Nextstep by Steve Jobs. So I am very fortunate that everything stays mostly the same for me.

    I stay away from modern UIs when I can. Too many people these days don't know how to make a good one. Or they use something bloated like Electron that is very buggy and slow (cough cough Steam cough)

    How to fix VR gaming

    1) Universal button layout

    2) STOP connecting VR controllers directly to the damn headsets. That way, people can mix and match based on their budget

    3) Budget friendly devices. Gotta bring people into the door if you want more users

    VR will forever be a rich kid's playground until these are fixed.

    I guess I can shoot for a Quest 2 this holiday. Just wish there was a VR controller that could be connected via Bluetooth and not rely on a headset. ATM I can only think of 5 games with XBox controller + headset support.

    - Star Wars Squadrons * (still need to test this one)

    Splatoon 3 was a fucking mistake. Splatoon should be considered evergreen and "once a generation". Having two Splatoon games in the same gen was idiotic 🤦🏾‍♂️

    Agreed. I just skipped Splatoon 3 altogether, I got my fill. I didn't play the second as much as the first anyway.
