About M3 Simply:
A note from the author.

Love the new and stylish look of Windows Vista? I do too, so I made this skin for the M3 Simply and the R4DS. I tried my hardest to make this a very top quality skin, and I am personally very happy with the end result. The skin applies all the the authentic aero effects, genuine Vista icons, and a group of varying backgrounds to choose from. If you like the backgrounds, but would prefer to make your own, I've even created a kit with a guide in order for you to do so. I hope you enjoy Simply Vista. As always, questions and comments are always welcome; I love feedback.

Note: Most questions you would have are answered in the readme. The readme can be found in any of the ten zip files you download.

Simply Vista 1.1

M3 Simply has been updated on 3-17-07. This new update contains the following:

- New theme.ini file with new colors that pertain better to the theme.
- I removed the arrow found on the main menu's task bar to make room for the new date feature.
- MakeYourOwn has also been updated with the new options.

Please redownload all of the files you use. Thanks!

I voted the red flower.....there is something about that shade of red that makes me want it badly...even though I don't have any slot-1 card yet......
But boy , do they look gorgeous........

These are absolutely AWESOME. The only thing I dislike is 'Game' instead of 'Games' or even Applications. But yes, I know you had to make it seamless with the firmware, so I'll guess I'll bear with it. And the description window is too big, but I can live with that.
I'm using the 'Drop' version.

By the way: Did you predither the skins? Because when I use images with a lot of gradients, transparency and shadows they look absolutely ugly, due to the fact the firmware doesn't predither the images (however MoonShell does ...). So?

just one thing..
do you think its possible for you to post the original pictures for the top? the 'logos' image..
i kinda dont like the huge xp icon, but i think everything else is too beautiful..

Hmm, could you perhaps provide us with the top screen logo backgrounds without the Windows logo sticked on it? I like the rest of the Vista look, but I'd rather make my own R4 logo and stick that on top instead of the huge Windows icon

Pretty nice!? I saw this and dropped my skin that I made myself instantly! Any plans to skin Moonshell the same way. I'm remember seeing somewhere that you had already done that, am I wrong?

Edit 2 - I found it funny that you used Myriad Pro where you wrote "Simply Vista" picture since it is Apple's font.

Nope, they are straight 24-bit images out of Photoshop. Busy images tend to look better than simple gradient ones.

In the make-your-own kit, you can use a blank logo screen, and then you can find all the backgrounds I used in the Screengap.psd.

the only thing i'd like in the template is the alpha blending on the icons.png makes it difficult to remove the "X" button from it. I'm anal, so i don't like the X there, but it's no biggy.

Only modifications i've done so far is to get rid of the windows logo and "japanify" it a bit

Figured got the "drop", why not use the "water" character?
