Hey guys, i recently purchsed an EZFlash 3-in-1 Expansion Pack for NDSLite and i have some problems using it with my m3 ds real:
When i use the gba exploder by rudolph, it only takes me to two modes and it does not take me to the rumble page where you could adjust the rumble feedback. Also i can not use the ram feature with homebrew and other types of games and applications such as the opera web browser. Im pretty sure that the expansion pack is not defective, can someone tell me the solution to this problem. Thank you !!!!!

In order to enable soft reset (and thus the expansion mode) in GBA ExpLoader you need to dump the M3 Real with Rudolph's NDS Backup Tool, rename the resulting .nds file to SoftReset.M3DS, and place it in the root of the memory card.

The opera browser can't use the RAM in the 3-in-1 until the cart is set to RAM expansion mode. You can do this with GBA ExpLoader once you've got it set up as I described above, or you can patch the browser rom to do it automatically.

Homebrew will have to support the 3-in-1 to use the RAM automatically. If a homebrew app happens to support the official RAM expansion but not the 3-in-1 directly, you will have to use GBA ExpLoader to set the 3-in-1 to Ram expansion mode before the app will be able to use it.

Before you do anything, I highly recommend backing up your saves and any other data you don't want to lose. Freezing when going into a certain folder is generally a sign of a corrupted memory card, and it will generally keep getting worse until you fix it. After you back up your saves, right click on the card in Windows (if you're using a different OS I can't help you) and click on 'Properties'. Go to Tools, then click 'Check Now' in the Error Checking section. Alternately, you can also just reformat the card.

Now, back to GBA ExpLoader:

Get the NDS backup tool (the 3in1 version), extract the NDS_Backup_Tool_3in1.nds file from the .zip file, and put it in the root (i.e. the top level, not in any folder) of the memory card.

Run the NDS backup tool, press R twice to go into Rom Backup mode, and press B to make a dump of the M3 Real. You may need to remove and re-insert the M3 Real before the backup tool can dump it.

If needed, restart the DS and run the backup tool again to write the file to the memory card.

Connect the memory card to your computer, move the PASSCARD3_AMFE00.nds file from the NDS_Backup folder to the root of the card, and rename it to "SoftReset.M3DS" (without the quotes).

Run GBA ExpLoader, press R twice to go into Expansion mode, choose any option, and press A. If it successfully soft resets back to the M3 menu then it's working properly.

I don't have a Real - so this may have changed in a recent update without me noticing - but last time I checked, homebrew that uses DLDI to read or write files on the memory card had to be run from the root of the memory card or it wouldn't work properly.

I am having the exact same problem. I can't get the NDS backup tool to work (if i could i wouldn't need this), so i can't get the SoftReset.M3DS file myself (i found a download on this site.)

Whenever I have the SoftReset.M3DS file in the root GBA ExpLoader gets stuck on "Initialize..." but if i don't have it in the root it loads instantly, but i can't switch it to Expansion RAM mode.

Any and all help appreciated.
