Keepem coming with these USA releases, even if it's Bakugan. I'm really really waiting for Atari's Greatest Hit's though.... Maybe they should release Vol. 1 and 2 at the same time.

i guess this is new... the others were called battle brawlers (and one was called battle trainer)
this has become quite famous here in TZ though we dont see anything other than merchandise with the bakugan logo unlike Ben 10 (which is still pretty strong)

Am I the only one who thought the music in that trailer was actually kind of cool? A little rough in places, but generally pretty cool.

Seems like an interesting game. Looks like it's kind of a mindless brawler-type game with missions. I never watched the cartoon, so I don't know the whole back-story or whatever, but the lumping on bad guys part looks fun.

Anyone played it yet? Is it worth bothering to check out?

Watched it, and it got boring, and You'd have to watch the whole first season before you watch the newer ones or else it'll get confusing.
The music was actually pretty good, at least I liked it. I tried the PSP version, and it wasn't too bad, though I got bored quickly, because I had no real motivation to finish it. I would say: If you like the series, try it out, it's the only brawler so far for this franchise.

I played the european version of this game and found it rather boring because it has a repetitive gameplay throughout the game. You'll go on a mission to chase the bad guys (obviously) and once you get to the important part of the mission, you'll have to fight the enemy's bakugan. The battle system is somewhat fine, though I do wish that they should add more combos instead of having boring attacks. It's pretty much a mash-the-button kind of game. I must admit that the graphics are good. I'd give it a 6/10 in my opinion.

They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
but its a custom os for both of them
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    designed for only specific hardware
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think

It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They place married security chips onto boards iirc

Didn't see much need for a console, all the advantages have kind of disappeared
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source

I'm avoiding buying from the big 3 at all atm

At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.
