Homebrew [DS(i)/3DS] TWiLight Menu++ - GUI for DS(i) games, and DS(i) Menu replacement

Am thinking of buying a new 3ds xl as I have an itch to play a lot of Nintendo games. I remember trying this program years ago and it was hit and miss compatibility wise. With all the updates since then, does this now negate the need for a separate ds flash card for playing ds games?

I think everything works more or less and always improving . Expect Golden Sun: Dark Dawn which could be still some time for it to be playable.... so if thats a game which you want to play beware.

Yea.. it can pretty much play most of the games you can throw at it, except Golden Sun as mentioned. And if you encounter any issues with any given game, make sure to check the nds-bootstrap compatibility list that's on first page on this thread.

Hello, I'm new here, I successfully installed twilight, but I can't change dsi nickname, the change on system settings doesn't reflect in twilight menu, is there a workaround for this?

Are you on a Nintendo DSi? If so, are you using hiyaCFW?

Edit both your SysNAND system settings and the hiyaCFW system settings.

may i ask how's the process for that? still unfamiliar with going through things.
sysnand system settings is the stock settings? if so, yes ive alrdy changed that.
i dont know how to change hiyacfw system settings though

1. Take out your SD card (sure, there are ways that don't require this but I'm right now not in the mood to type out those steps)
2. Hold A + B while turning on your Nintendo DSi
3. Select the "System Settings" options
4. Change your nickname through the GUI
5. Power off your Nintendo DSi
6. Insert the SD card back into the Nintendo DSi
7. Hold A + B while turning on your Nintendo DSi
8. Select "hiya.dsi"
9. Go to the System Settings app
10. Redo step 4

one last question, is it necessary that i change sysnand settings too? or is it fine to do it only on sdnand settings and then just leave sysnand settings as is.

We already changed both, actually. I was too lazy to figure out which one it was reading from.
Steps 1-4 were SysNAND. Steps 7-10 were hiyaCFW.

Speaking of, you probably do not need hiyaCFW. I'd recommend reconsidering if the benefits outweigh the cons.

In my case with a dstwo plus, i would like to launch the plugins with the original kernel (As i know TWLmenu supports them, too) And DS(i) games with Twilightmenu++ accessing the flashcard including the boost.

In theory it should be able to launch the flashcard original kernel OS by the Card directly. And also TWLmenu++ on the flashcard by launching it through TWLmenu from nativ 3DS menu and get use of the boost e.g. additional VRAM.

If iam correct. There just need to be a alternative named kernel on the flashcards microSD which TWLmenu can launch.

iirc, you can get into the original dash kernel by holding L+R+start+select to get into the cheat menu, then click the back to os button, and it should boot the normal menu.

hmm, I must've misremembered then. that combo I mentioned might be for soft resetting the game.
