replacement shell for my "New Nintendo 3ds" (not the XL model)

hey, so recently i busted the shell on my new Nintendo 3ds. (the 2015 model, not the XL model) and i cannot find replacement shells anywhere. they only ever sell replacement cover plates and ones for the XL. im pretty stumped. I've checked ebay, I've checked aliexpress, I've checked amazon, heck I've even checked some proper shady sites yet still nothing. what do i do? does anyone else know of somewhere to get one? im not too bothered about the colour of the shell i just really need something

I guess it's not too surprising, it launched in the US well after the New XL model had launched for whatever reason, while they both launched on the same day in Europe and Australia (they even cost more in America when they launched than the New XL model did). Most people probably just figured they'd prefer an XL model and the standard models consequently probably didn't push nearly as many units. It did have the faceplates going for them, but I didn't see a lot of those for sale around these parts, kinda get the opinion that appeal was largest in Japan, just kinda seems like one of those things they'd be more interested in embracing than other places. Still, it's a shame replacement shells don't seem to be anywhere on the likes of Aliexpress or otherwise.

I'm in purt much the same boat. Hinge on mine is floppy. I used to have a "grip" accessory that I modified to hold the top screen part in place, but slammed the brakes HARD to avoid an accident one day, 3DS went flying through the car, and the part of the grip that I modded to do this snapped clean off. Not possible to repair, or replace. : (
