I have two gameboys, the gameboy sp and the gameboy advanced

I buy 3 days ago the ez flash omega (no DE) and i'm having so much issues with saving (Pokémon esmerald, rubí, red fire etc)

And this issues it's just on the gameboy sp but no the gameboy advanced

I try with a custume kernel for the ez flash omega and at the start it was working finally well on the gameboy sp but now the problem has return, what i can do?

Two main possibilities.

1) The pins are not making good contact on the SP. Not all pins in the GBA slot are for the game itself so if the save pins are not making good contact (dirt on the cart pins, bad contact or dirt in the GBA slot) then this might yield this.
2) The SP somehow has too low a voltage to do what needs doing. We normally see stuff like this the other way around when people try to run an original GBA on rechargeable batteries but the principle still applies.

What happens if you connect the charger and try to save? What happens when you try to save on low SP battery?

Other than that then the usual clean the pins of the omega, clean the pins of the GBA itself* and if you want then you can also try folding a bit of paper a few times and inserting it between the Omega's board and its shell to give a bit better contact. Do also shine a light down in there to make sure a small bit of grit did not get in there or a pin somehow got bent.

*easier said than done. For most the best they can do is maybe find some contact cleaner (don't use the automotive stuff as it is too harsh and might even melt the plastic if you are unlucky), give it a squirt and insert and remove a GBA cart a bunch of times (possibly even the omega with said bit of folded paper).

I try the plug in the gameboy sp on the charger and save. But it's still happen

How i can clean the pins contact on the sp?

If you can then also try having the SP on full charge (or something near to it) and the cable in -- if the battery is weak then it could still be a case of not enough power.

isopropyl alcohol (IPA in most electronics circles) can be used, there are better things but solvents that are not going to eat the device and stand a chance of lifting organic matter of washing abraded stuff away is... there is also a reason it gets used when cleaning circuit boards.

It is hard to clean pins that are all encapsulated though. This is why above I said to maybe use some cleaning fluid (IPA being less than some nice contact cleaner that is truly designed for this sort of thing*) in conjunction with inserting and removing the cart a whole bunch of times such that hopefully the oxide, grit and dirt that has probably built up in the slot over the last nearly 20 years

*not necessarily for the GBA but plenty of other times I get mixed results with insertion/removal when dealing with mechanical electrical connections, contact cleaner then almost being a miracle solution.

One thing I should have also asked come to think about it. Can we get a shot of the PCB on the Omega? There have been a few with bad solder joints and it could be that the holding it upwards in a GBA differs to the holding it downwards in a GBA SP. You could also try holding it upside down to save as well and seeing if that makes a difference.

So that is contact issues. More likely from the omega itself. While you can still address the GBA itself then clean the pins of the omega (far easier as they are exposed if you take the case off, some use a pencil rubber/eraser followed by some IPA) and see about getting that bit of folded paper between the case and the PCB to force that little bit more contact.
Do also check the GBA slot if you have not already in case there is a little rock or something in there preventing it from seating fully.

Nothing like that in my SP and it does have the colour of someone spilled something or dirt from your bag got in the slot. Could also be causing what you see so I would consider getting it out of there.
Worse is it looks like it is on the GB/GBC slide as well (the little slider just to the right is what detects when a GB/GBC cart has been put in and sets things accordingly, others reading along if your screen boots up in GBC mode then check that is not stuck down).

As it is on on the pins (we hope anyway) you can probably mechanically do something there. I would get a wooden or plastic tooth pick (stuzzicadenti?) and see if I can remove a bit with one of those, though I have steady hands and have done this a lot so if you are not that then get someone that is as bending one of those pins would not be good. Fortunately if it is food then they usually respond to IPA and other such solvents far more readily than most things making pins dirty.

In that case it might sound counterintuitive but try leaving the cart a little bit out rather than all the way in and pressed hard.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
