From what I understand of the usage instructions here: https://github.com/redolution/iplboot
If you don't have an ipl.dol present then booting with no button pressed will do standard official boot. Then you can have Swiss named as b.dol or whichever button you want to press for it.
That is actually perfect. So I could have swiss in there as z.dol?

Can you use 28 AWG wires for the whole mod install or do you need both 26 and 28?
I did mine as all 26 AWG and have no issues. Due to the way PicoBoot works larger diameter wires help with stability. People using 28 or 30 have had issues with booting depending on wire length.

Do you have a link for some good 26 AWG Wire?

Hello y'all, im looking into what best gauge of solid wire seems to have best results for everyone, i was going to go for 26 but thinking maybe a small gauge like 28 or 30 solid might be better? Also whats the worst that can happen if i screw up other than nothing happening and not purposefully shorting connections? I havent soldered in years and luckly this mod is only a few wires i just dont want to screw up my only DOL-001 console.

Thanks!!!

I got this a few years ago as it was listes as kynar and it was fake. These suck honestly. Ive done about 10 pico installs all with kynar wire. Trick is to keep wires at length to reach pico and no more.

They do work as I did my first pico with these but I prefer the kynar.

Can you link some good wires then for the pico?

Pico W is not officially supported yet but it should work. There is definitely an issue in your wiring if you get no video output. Post pictures of your install.
Oh my god I definitely thought I replied to this after I l liked it, anyways I finally got it to work just today. It turns out it was my wire gauge, I was using 30 AWG, I switched to 26AWG and it worked

EDIT: here's a pic of what my install looks like

Don't cut the chassis, you can bend it a little bit and let cables through. Bending is reversible, cutting is not.
Def cut the chassis as bending it can pinch cables and well you can fry yo shit. Plus it has no affect on anything. Did about 20 so far and this is my go to method thus far. have 3 more in.

To each their own, but I've bent the chassis and had zero issues. There's far more than enough room for the cables.

No matter the wire length and thickness I'm just unable to make the intermittent boots go away (tried 24AWG, 30AWG, kynar, made the wires less than 15cm, tried to give the pico an alternative ground, etc).

It's not a dealbreaker, as it does work most of the time, but 'ts still kinda annoying.
