Then I don't understand how can they not have any license information and why are they available for download in the internet.
I don't know. I know c00 games are generic, so all their edats use the same key and whatnot, you just need the content id. that's why there's a patch for hen and cfw for it. you can determine the unlock key for those easily.

I noticed I can't access the external HDD's NTFS partition in FileZilla Client but I can access the FAT32 one. Why?

What's "* PlayStation3" on the XMB and why do I have an error message every time I click it?

What's the "PKG" folder in "/dev_hdd0/" for?

I've read using USB-powered hubs might mess up the PS3's USB ports. Is it true?

app_home is for debugging games, don't use it. PKG, I don't know. it may be deprecated, but you can install pkgs from anywhere except for the tv/video tier, as long as you modify some xml files. a usb hub, only if it's not self powered probably. the system will tell you if you're taxing the usb ports, but by that time, it will likely be too late.

What do you mean by debugging games? I have a self-powered hub. Will an USB-powered one likely mess up the PS3's USB ports?

it will likely damage what's plugged into it. don't use it.

I'm all tapped out. I hate answering ps3 questions, because as far as I'm concerned, it's bottom of the barrel shit scene. makes me wish I never got involved in any of this stuff. I might have a second wind if the douches weren't trying to get involved int he ps4, and then ps5 scenes.

What do you mean by plugged? What does "* PlayStation3" have to do with connecting something to the PS3?

So, I shouldn't click it?
as I said, I hate the ps3 and its scene. not even sure why I'm a part of any other scene, because I was only a part of the 360 before that. I hate the drama, the bullshit, the wannabe devs, hackers, or people in control of shit. I do not want to answer any more ps3 questions for today, please. ask on psx-place or something.

I'm precisely trying to avoid PSX-Place because of those users you described.

I mean if you've got hard drives, controllers, etc. plugged into the hub. it will likely destroy them at some point. if you get the warning, it's probably too late.

Oh, I thought when you said to not connect any devices you were talking about "* PlayStation3" so I didn't get it and now I do. You were saying to not connect any device into USB-powered hubs.

Anyway, I thought it would mess up the PS3's USB ports, not the devices connected to them (USB-powered hubs) like you said. I also find it odd that the PS3 would alert users regarding this.

Also, you said to not use "* PlayStation3" since it's for debugging games (whatever that is) but I can't even use it because when I click it I have an error message.

yes, the rif file is an encrypted version of the rif key along with act.dat and idps.

So, are PKG and RIF files downloaded from the PSN or just PKG's and the RIF key? Isn't the "RAP key" actually called "RAP key" unlike the "RIF key" which has that name? So, basically, do reActPSN/PSN Patch/Cobra use the RIF key in the RAP files with the user's act.dat and IDPS to create RIF files?

What are LIC.DAT and SDATA?

Also, I thought updates were in the PUP format, not in the PKG one too. If so, why are they in the latter format when downloaded from the official site and the PS3 recognizes them?

EDIT: I can only find Ratchet & Clank Full Frontal Assault PKG and RAP files in PSNDL and NPS and not EDAT's too. I still don't get why PKG files downloaded from other sites than PSNDL and NPS sometimes work without RAP's/EDAT's.

Don't take this the wrong way, dude, you ask way too many questions and it drains people.

I've asked some here, but I tried my luck looking thru the web and it was helpful.

I do wish this category would be active with other users. PS3 still has a lot of life.

I already did that but I didn't find the answers to all my questions and in some cases others also asked some of my questions but they weren't answered.

Oh, I thought when you said to not plug any devices you were referring to /app_home/PS3_GAME/ so I didn't get it and now I get that you were saying to not plug any device into the USB hub.

Anyway, I thought it would screw up the PS3's USB ports, not the devices plugged in it (USB hub) like you said. I also find it odd the PS3 would alert the user of a problem regarding this.

Also, you said to not use /app_home/PS3_GAME/ since it's for debugging games (whatever that is) but I can't even use it because when I click it I have an error message.

Also, I thought updates were in the .pup file extension, not in the .pkg one too. In that case, why does one download .pup files from Sony's official site and the PS3 recognizes it?

EDIT: Weird, I can only find the .pkg and .rap files for Ratchet & Clank Full Frontal Assault in PSNDL and NoPayStation and not the .edat one too. I still don't get why .pkg files downloaded from other sites than PSNDL and NoPayStation sometimes work without the .rap/.edat files.
The games on other sites have been "fixed" for people too stupid to inject licenses. They're not fixed but rather broken.
