After some footage leaked online, PlayStation has aired an official, 10-minute features and gameplay trailer for The Last of Us Part I, the remake of the first entry to The Last of Us series. In addition to comparison footage of the previous version of the game, the trailer also includes interviews with the game directors as well as technical details that are characteristic improvements of the remake.

The Last of Us Part I will be available on PS5 this September 2, and later for PC.

It's absolutely ridiculous that Naughty Dog actually focused on making a 70$ remake of a game that came out less than a decade ago.
They could've used those resources and money to create a third part, or a new IP.
And that comes from someone who owns a PS3 copy.

I dont really think ND saved face here personally.

over on Resetera people have predictably consoomer 180'd and gone '$70 day 1 purchase for me' after shutting down the thread that was bad reaction to leaks just a couple days prior.

it's still like 95% the same presentation and expectations I had coming off the leaks.

How to make more money for dummies:

1- Make a mediocre game.
2- Make it exclusive to some platform.
4- Overrate it.
3- Remaster it and publish it on new platforms.
Isn't this pretty much all nintendo do, recycle the same stuff, overrate it, god the switch is a perfect example of them "remastering" or should we say porting its old stuff.

Pretty much everything you pointed out has been the way nintendo are.

But what is the excuse its fanboys and girls claim to defend, something along the lines of its great to see nintendo re introduce said games again to new audiences and gamers that haven't played the game yet.

Yet they completely contradict when it comes to Sony and then demand they're not fanboys or fangirls.

Though I think the same, its was and still is a good game, but don't think it needs to be remade already.

But this is the problem with gaming these days, too many devs re releasing the same crap thats not even that old, when we have a massive back catalogue of older titles that could do with re imagining rather than the same shit every year.

I typed a similar reply before reading yours haha.

As for naughty dog. No thank you. I will save my money for games that don't preach to me, and don't include ugly humunculous characters and expect me to believe it is a female.

this is a comparatively small project for newer devs and people not currently working on other projects (cause those titles are in pre-production or in a state where their specific work isnt currently needed). these big studios dont just work on one thing at a time.
not doing something at all in that time would be a waste of money and ressources

Yeah, they basically took most games of the Beta Switch and ported over to the Switch.

Did you just come away from some reddit flame war or something? Who cares if nintendo and sony release games you dont want and other people buy them? I only get upset when companies start attacking their customers online accusing them of not being "woke" enough or some crazy nonsense.

Has Nintendo ever done something like this? Make a game, then port it to their next gen, then port the game again to their next gen, and charge full price?
