Hello,

My switch boots fine into CFW, but when i try stock (or cfw sys) it stays on a black screen.
What do i have to update in order for it to work again?

When i turn off Auto rcm it boots just fine in OFW.

Also how can i safely upgrade my CFW firmware to the latest version? Im still on 12.1.0
You just contradicted yourself. You said your Switch boots fine into CFW but when you try CFW SYS, it stays on a black screen. Does CFW work or not?

I meant Emunand cfw, so everything Stock does not work (unless i remove Auto rcm and just let it boot normally into OFW) but everthing OFW (with or without cfw) via hekate ends up in a hekate logo > black screen.

So in summary

Emunand (cfw) > boots fine
CFW sysMMC > Hekate logo > Black screen
Stock sysMCC > Hekate logo > Black screen

What version of Hekate are you using?

Currently back at 5.6.5 again.

When i update to the latest version, it won't even boot into emunand anymore and gives a black screen.
Well if you're not on the latest version of Hekate then you won't be able to boot Stock because only the latest version of Hekate supports the latest firmware. That means your actual problem is not being able to boot emuMMC using the latest version of Hekate. Update both Atmosphere and Hekate to the latest versions then try again. I recommend backing up your /atmosphere folder then putting the newest one on your SD card to ensure you're using the latest version of Atmosphere.

I have replaced my files with the latest versions of Atmosphere 1.3.2 and Hekate V 5.7.2.

When i boot into Hekate and start the Emumcc it goes to a black screen.

When i boot into Stock it gives the following error:

HOS Panic occurred!
Color: #####, Code: 06
Pres any key...

When i boot CFW - SysMMC it goes to a black screen.

Is there a way to to have multiple saves/islands in animal crossing new horizon? My girlfriend and I want to play this game but we want to have two different saves so we can both progress on our own

JKSV gives you multiple save points.

Alright, I am 99% confident I know exactly what your problem is. A while back, Atmosphere changed the names of one their most important files "fusee-secondary.bin". It was renamed to "package3". This change doesn't become apparent unless you use Hekate because Hekate uses the hekate_ipl.ini file to boot CFW so if even one character isn't spelled right, Hekate fails to launch CFW. So the simple but effective solution to your dilemma is to rename all instances of fusee-secondary.bin in your hekate_ipl.ini file to package3

That worked! Thank you so much ^^

I hope its ok to ask another question, which tool/guide/method do you recommend to update my emunand firmware to the latest version?

You can use the homebrew application Daybreak to update the firmware of your emuMMC. It comes bundled with Atmosphere so its not a separate download. Using the app is also pretty simple as long as you follow the prompts. The only trick is that you must download the files of the firmware you wish to update to on your own. Since those are copyrighted files, I cannot help you track those down but rest assured that dumps of all Nintendo Switch firmware files exist online.

Hello folks,
I backuped my savegames with DBI.
After changing the SD card I wanted to install them again. How can I do that?
Thanks

JKSV will do it. Just have to massage directories a bit IIRC. After you reinstall the games, I believe you can create a save and it will create the structure for you and then you can import saves from other homebrew. Will see if I can find the post I’m thinking about.

I need to make sure my new modded switch is properly set up before I reconnect it to wifi.
I followed the reentry guide and got atmosphere working, part of the setup included exosphere and something else to block ninty servers. I have a few questions now in fear of the banhammer:

- Am I able to connect emummc to wifi now? (So many forum posts say you should never connect to wifi, but then why the incognito setup?)
If so:
- Can I use emummc to play online-safe modded smash (I was a part of he Smash 4 modding scene and know what that means)?
- Can I also use sysnand to play online games/eshop purchases despite those games having different save files from emummc?

Last edited by Mattshark,
I already backuped them with DBI. Can I still reinstall with the other app?

You should be able to restore them with DBI as well. DBI to DBI or JKSV to JKSV is the ideal way to execute the process. Game saves are game saves so as long as they are in the right order you can restore backups from another app.

if you followed the guide to the letter with exosphere and dns:mitm setup you can connect to the Internet without going Online with Ninty. Doing so is not 100% guaranteed but so far folks have been running this way (being on the Internet but blocking Online) for years, self included, without issue.

Do not play any Online games with a dirty Emunand. it is accepted practice to only play Online games using your clean Sysnand.
- Can I also use sysnand to play online games/eshop purchases despite those games having different save files from emummc?
Yes..this is the way. The only way. Clean Sysnand, yes. Dirty Emunand, no.

Well, that brings me back to my previous question. I started DBI and copied all the savegames on my PC hard drive via copy and paste.

When I open DBI app and the connection to my PC with my new Switch, I can not copy them back with copy + paste. How do I install them again?
