Misc My modded new 2DS xl is broken and unusable, but I still have the files in the SD card. Am I able to back it up with another modded 3ds?

This topic may have already been touched on or other solutions have been clear, but I just want to be able to have the cleared up for myself.

I'll make this quick. My modded New 2ds xl has been out of commission for the past month and a half and I have lots of data on the SD card. I am thinking of getting a new 3ds xl instead and mod that one. Is there a method I can still recover the files of my original 3ds or should I start from scratch?

Hopefully you have used Checkpoint and/or JKSM for backing up the savegames in decrypted form. Easy restore after modding the new console and installing the games there.

You can't just use the SD:/Nintendo 3DS/<ID 0>/<ID 1>/ folder on another console (unique encrpytion key).
Decrypting is possible with movable.sed (specifically KeyY from that). A NAND backup with embedded essentials contains this.

Yeah unfortunately I never did backup anything using checkpoint. As this little incident was very sudden when my 2ds xl went dead on me. To add on that it never occured to me to back up anything with checkpoint before hand since I always make sure my stuff is taken care of. Yeah seems like there is really nothing I can do about it now except start from scratch with another 3ds and not a 2ds xl.
